The hotel and service were alright. However, it offers a car service for a competitive price but disclaims any action by the drivers. We paid the hotel and went to a national park over verry bad roads. After a three hour ride, we came to a nearly deserted entrance, where the driver took us to an empty, unmarked building. A man came in only with a colorful announcement sealed in plastic stating that the costs of the park and guide were 35 Euros for each person. Because my wife and I were only two, we would also have to pay for a third person, which was the minimum number for a tour. We did not know that there was any alternative besides a 3 hour return trip to Medan. We asked for a receipt, and he gave us one without the name of any business on it. Later, we discovered that there was another entrance out of sight from the first, and there were guides who would have taken us into the part for an estimated 10% of what we had paid. When we complained to the hotel, they said that they had no responsibility for what the drivers of the car did. However, they took the money to pay for the car and driver. We paid a total of 105 Euros, including 35 Euros for a non-existant third person. We were given an unmarked bill as a receipt.
