Room 312, was filled with ants and cockroaches. Toilet had problem, water was retaining and d floor was stagnant with water. Tv did not work. Changed room then to 311, a little better, but tv did not work. Saw rats running in restaurant at lobby.

Value for money and good location. Great F & B outlets on 24hr basis. However, toilet fittings needs attention. The toilet flush lever and shower lever were faulty. Shower head also not not in full working order.

Smoking room with sandy bedsheet
Got to hotel late after 10pm. Had asked on booking for non smoking room but only a smoking room was available. Bed feels sandy and there was only one set of toiletries for the two of us. Hotel also did not have a multi adapter to lend us though the hotel shop sells one at a relatively reasonable price. Room window opens to the corridor facing another room. Guess I was expecting more. :(

Good but not Great
Located right in center of medan city.The staff were very friendly and I got a room upgraded for free. Need improvement on Breakfast buffet, it finishes off every early and they don't refill it quickly. Have to wait long and keep asking the staff. Slow WiFi connection

Hotel is near to city. Yet quiet. Staff very good
Please don't try their spa. Very bad service and they keep asking for extra money. The service in the hotel spa was bad. Otherwise the stay was pleasant.

The park scam by a hotel-contracted car service.
The hotel and service were alright. However, it offers a car service for a competitive price but disclaims any action by the drivers. We paid the hotel and went to a national park over verry bad roads. After a three hour ride, we came to a nearly deserted entrance, where the driver took us to an empty, unmarked building. A man came in only with a colorful announcement sealed in plastic stating that the costs of the park and guide were 35 Euros for each person. Because my wife and I were only two, we would also have to pay for a third person, which was the minimum number for a tour. We did not know that there was any alternative besides a 3 hour return trip to Medan. We asked for a receipt, and he gave us one without the name of any business on it. Later, we discovered that there was another entrance out of sight from the first, and there were guides who would have taken us into the part for an estimated 10% of what we had paid. When we complained to the hotel, they said that they had no responsibility for what the drivers of the car did. However, they took the money to pay for the car and driver. We paid a total of 105 Euros, including 35 Euros for a non-existant third person. We were given an unmarked bill as a receipt.

Good service....
Pros - clean, comfy mattress, hot shower, good air conditioning,LCD TV with good channels, some small eateries walking distance, good breakfast variety Cons - limited power outlet, towel quality to be improved, no fridge, noisy bed, no coffee / tea maker in room, air conditioning blower position was odd

Medan Hotel
The hotel is new and really value for money, but for my first stay the room were very small for Deluxe room and less facilities. However for my second stay for more cheaper value I got an Executive room which is bigger. Their Wi-Fi connection is fast, but poor in network bars. Overall it was a pleasant stay for me and it's very near to all the shopping malls and banks as well.

Not in position as stated on Hotels.com Map.
Booked this hotel as arriving on a late flight and the hotel was supposedly close proximity to the train station. Please be aware that the hotel is not in the position as labelled on the Hotels.com map and is actually about 1 -1.5km further down the road. Felt very unsafe on this road in the dark. Hotel was unable to provide a double bed so had to settle with a twin room. Room smelt of smoke. Poor Internet. Expensive restaurant.

Had a brief overnight stay here in order to catch an early morning flight. The guy on the desk looked at my Indian visa for ages until I pointed him to the correct page of my passport. They didn't seem to know what they were doing. Electric socket came out of the wall when I tried to unplug the hairdryer. Staff were initially doubtful about being able to book a taxi for 4am. In the morning they fiddled about for ages checking the mini bar and then charged us 5000 for a bottle of water we had assumed was complimentary. Overall, the hotel was ok but wish they'd get their staff to a better level of competence.

Second time the charm.
The first time we stayed here did not go so well. The second time was much better. We got the room we booked, the breakfast was fabulous, and the business center was able to help us with some of our other needs.

See if you get what you booked.
Firstly, the front staff had difficulty locating my booking even after giving them my confirmation number. They said I booked too far in advance so they lost it. When I showed them my booking on my computer, they miraculously found mine also. I booked a non-smoking, two bed room. I got a smoking room with only one bed in it instead. They said that this was the only room left as they were full. You would think if I booked "too far in advance" that they would have had the room I requested back then!
