The fireplace was perfect for the cold winter weather and the furnishing were very nice and comfortable. If we had known restaurants in the area were closed for the season we would have brought food to cook. The ones that were open were mediocre at best. The kitchen had everything you'd need to cook great meals. I would definitely stay there again. A little downtime on the back porch reading was welcome too. Our host was exceptional. Before, during and after don’t provided suggestions, recommendations and assistance. This place, the entire experience, exceeded our expectations. The views were gorgeous and the location felt away from the hustle and bustle of life yet close to Meadows of Dan for shopping and eating out. The deck was very nice as well with a fire pit and comfortable furniture. The cabin is situated on a hill with many other cabins surrounding it, but it still has some good views of the mountains. The general area surrounding this cabin is pretty sparse. There are only two restaurants (neither of which I would go back to) in the town and the closest grocery store/Walmart is a 30 minute drive over a windy highway that will be under construction for the next five years. There are a few stores that sell sandwiches and some grocery items though. Another drawback was that I was unable to contact the host prior to our stay to ask about potential changes to our reservations with no answers to several emails sent via the VRBO portal and a phone number with a full mailbox. The host did contact me via email a few days before our reservation with check in instructions and the actual address of the cabin.The email gave a phone number but included explicit instructions that it was only to be used in the event of an emergency. Pre-stay communication was spot-on with the info provided. Not that the hosts could do anything about it, but the weather was spectacular. Proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway is outstanding. The cabin itself is well appointed and cozy. It has a great variety of kitchen ware, I did not need anything extra with a 3 night stay and making all my food there at the cabin. Everything was very clean, and we were impressed by the extras that were provided - hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher pods, shampoo/conditioner, olive oil, salt/pepper in grinders, and a collection of spices. There was an excellent selection of dishes and cookware. This was a rustic, cozy cabin with high end finishes and details. You will not regret staying here! ##### Amy W. We stayed here during our visit to Primland Golf Course and would do it again in a heartbeat because the accommodations are stellar and more affordable than the golf course accommodations. The time spent on the renovation and decor is evident. The bathroom is beautiful! The only things that could be improved was the pot holes on the gravel drive to mountaintop cabins and our specific cabin’s washing machine needed a good cleaning.
