We brought a ton of food n snacks. Summit Ridge had all the dishes we needed to get cooking. We grilled in the snow also… The cabin had plenty books n board games for family fun. It was a spacious clean n cozy place!!! I’d say it’s definitely 4 ⭐️ for me. I deferred from a five star rating because we encountered the following: The jetted tub did not jet n the birthday girl was looking forward to a nice relaxing bath. We planned to swim but the pool room was too cold n drafty and the water was cold. (It snowed n Rained) The wood provided was left outside so it was wet n wouldn’t burn properly in the fireplace. The welcome package had laundry and dish detergent and toilet paper. We brought our own but were glad to see we didn’t need to use it. The thermostat sets the temperature in the pool area so on the cold day we made the house extra hot so we could be comfortable in the pool. The hot tub and sauna were great. The temperature could be adjusted but you have to do it every 15 minutes. The only downside was the roaches. The floor was sticky when we arrived and my husband did his best to mop the floor but under the refrigerator was so many roaches. We sprayed but they came out at night when most of the group was sleeping. I couldn’t let my baby crawl around because of the roaches. Yikes!! Also the dishwasher didn’t work. Our family stay at Summit Ridge at the top of the mountain was really great. The home accommodated 13 people comfortably and the indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna & fire pit were the hit of the week. Our weather was perfect for exploring the waterfalls, Deep Creek Lake (a beautiful sight to behold) and Wisp Mountain activities. We ranged from age 4 to 91 and all had a great time. We even celebrated a birthday while at Deep Creek. Our family of four grown daughters and their significant others/ children enjoyed our time here. The property was a great size…we enjoyed playing pool, sitting by the fire and the hot tub. Our only complaint is that you can tell it is managed by a rental company. It was the small things that knocked this property down from a 5 star review. Clunky old toilets, missing and damaged items in the kitchen, doors that just don’t quite latch right, holes in the screens, shower curtains missing half the hooks, a mostly working hot tub with a slightly broken cover. It just needs a deep clean and someone who actually cares to do the upkeep and it would be somewhere we’d go to every year. ##### Shanel K. Would rate 5 with a few tweaks to the property. Wonderful location and a great space for our group of 8 and our dog. Make sure you bring ALL your own toilet paper, soap paper towels and garbage bags! They aren’t joking…they do not provide it. One towel and one washcloth per person only provided. Which was quite surprising considering the cost of the rental. No propane available so we couldn’t grill our meal as we planned either. A map or some detailed information regarding where to take trash would have been helpful. We drove around with garbage in our car for 30 minutes trying to find the dumpster. However, these “complaints” are minor and wouldn’t stop us from returning except that that we know we need to pack more items and I’m not sure we had any more room in our car. ##### Stephanie S. The pool, sauna, and hottub were a real treat after a day in the cold. The home was lovely and private yet centrally located, including a little bonus lodge at the top of the slopes? The sauna, hot tub and pool were great. The bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen were perfect for a large group. The only minor complaint we noticed was the windows are in need of cleaning and there were cobwebs hanging from all of the light fixtures, it could use a deeper clean periodically. Sep 28, 2017 #### Beautiful property and location, a few issues. Beautiful property in a beautiful location. Generally in great shape with a few minor exceptions: kitchen is way under-stocked, area rugs are in dire need of cleaning or replacement, and the outside deck needs some nicer furniture and the railings are in dire need of refinishing. The fire pit is a nice touch and the indoor pool and sauna worked perfectly. Surprisingly the pool and hot tub were not hyper-chlorinated, a nice treat. Pool guy kept them clean everyday. All that said, Railey allow a group of 20-something guys rent next door and did not intervene as their documents say they would to solve the noise, profanity, and late hours issue. ##### Erick P. Mar 4, 2016 #### best trip ever we had an amazing stay at summit ridge!!!! the owner Doug was very accommodating and kind. we thoroughly enjoyed the awesome pool, hot tub, and sauna. the gorgeous open kitchen and living room was perfect fot enteraining the adults, and the lower floor living room with pool table and kitchenette was prefect for the young adults. We would have been glad to of had a rain day.
