The mattress seemed old based on how soft it was, the paint was chipping, and the room wasn’t as clean as I would expect from a hotel (e.g., hairs in the shower, marks in the toilet). I don’t see how this is a 4 star hotel in its current state."

"Several staff members were unengaging and fairly curt. The car valet guys were nice but having to valet the car every time we used it was inconvenient and expensive. During our 4 night stay, the room was only serviced the third morning at my request because I had spilled coffee on the sheet the first night and they didn't service our room at all the next day. They only did it the second morning because I requested it. The first night I also found a long dark hair on one of the hand towels and placed it on the floor to be replaced but no one came the next day. Our coffee pods and sugar in the room were never replaced and the trash wasn't emptied, even on the one day we had service. The Kelly hotel is attractive but we're not likely to stay again, which is a shame since our son and DIL live in Birmingham and we visit often."
