It was the best retreat for us. Staying here brought us back to all the summers we spent in McCall at our family cabin growing up (my great grandparents built a cabin in 1938). The layout is a little funny, but it works perfectly and adds to the charm. You are right on the water and have all the amenities you need. It’s a very cozy, comfortable, and inviting cabin. We spent the weekend playing cards and relaxing. We were disappointed property management did not leave us a snow shovel during a major storm…. Only an old broom. And forgot to take out the prior guests’ trash. The kitchen is well stocked but there’s no salt and pepper, olive oil, etc (what I would consider basic cooking stuff). Shades were clean and easy to use for privacy or to block the morning sun. Ceiling fan for cooling. There is furnace heat so I didn’t have to try and light the pilot lite of the gas stove. The high was 40 degrees the first 2 days so the heat was appreciated. The upper deck is very narrow more for standing out there and looking. If you do sit sideways the rail blocks much of the tree line view. Photos did not show the width. Downstairs deck more user friendly. Fairly private other than one neighbor which can be blocked out in the living room by the shades. The only criticism I have is that there was no sign that says the running water is potable from the lake. It probably said in the description but I reviewed a lot of different sites and if so did not remember. It does say in the house booklet but I rarely look at those first thing. It should be posted so people can make their own decisions. That said, I always carry a couple of gallons of water for emergency so it was no big deal for me. Weather was too cold to really enjoy the outside of the house-go figure in mid June! Did enjoy the peacefulness of the view from the inside ##### Debra S. In February the lake was frozen with a lot of snow and we loved the view. Being able to bring our dog was another great benefit and he loved playing in the snow and on the frozen lake. I found the loft to be adorable and we didn't have anyone stay up there, but it was cute. The rustic feel of the cabin is really nice. It is dated, but we found it charming. The beds aren't really comfortable and they do have a coffee maker, but bring your own coffee. The microwave is really old, we didn't try to use it. The oven works great. No dishwasher, so you have to do your own dishes. The TV was a little hard to figure out. We ended up manually using the satellite box to find TV shows. ##### Leah B. Kitchen is well equipped, DVD player and dvd remote are not dependable, cozy atmosphere, nice shower, WiFi would be a good option, small children use caution with deck and loft balaster spacing, and the place was nice and clean.
