The only thing lacking is a mini-fridge. Staff were awesome! They’ll even teach you some Spanish. It has a neat bar that is very well-known among gringos of Mazatlan, and a pool, and a parking lot which is really convenient if you travel by car. The room is small but has everything you need. The furniture is a bit old, and the bathroom requires some attention and remodeling. The room is on par with a Motel 6 and set up the exact same way. The rooms are very small, but clean. Some very much older furnishings. Our lamp was screwed to the end table to not be stolen, which was weird. lol The beds were fine. The pool is not heated and is mostly in the shade so you cant swim in it, only look at it. The area is convenient to bars and restaurants. To use the beach, though, you have to rent a spot/chairs/table/umbrella for about $20 - $25/day plus tip and you have to go through a public access cuz The Playa Maz wont let you go through their building if not a guest. We were stopped by the security immediately and rerouted. The rooms were incredibly dirty, the wifi did not work in our room (and we were directly in top of the lobby) the restaurant was closed when we arrived (1:30 pm) and there was no room service. The sport bar in the facility looks nothing like the pictures as well, and the man running it was clearly annoyed every time people walked in. The breakfast was good, but it’s not complementary, since it doesn’t seem to be part of the hotel so not sure if they should get credit for that. There are cheaper places you can stay and probably get better amenities and services.
