Parking is horrible!

Posted 22-Jan-2017
Pros: Close to most things, but you needed a car.
Cons: More parking, or less cars.
Location: Museum, whales, shopping, snorkeling.
Great but expensive hotel. My deluxe ocean front room was very large and comfortable. Had great views of all manner of birds and, of course, whales. I was situated in the furthest building from the hotel lobby, so valet parking wasn't a good option for me as I often needed my car. I left one evening for a luau and returned around 8pm and there was nowhere even remotely close to my building to park. Even the sides of the road were lined with cars. This was even a gated area but it appeared many others had access. This was most frustrating for me.

Incredible hotel with an amazing location.

Few hotels in Maui will make you feel OK about just staying on your deck but this one will get you there.

Had a great time! But Hawaii is very expensive. Make sure you double your expected budget for food! Overall a fun experience.

Great location

Pros: Location.
Hotel has a great location with the beach along one of the better snorkeling spots in Maui. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. The location itself is difficult to beat.

Large resort, Paradise Lost, overrun, crowded, loud

Posted 7-Jan-2017
Pros: Nice Grounds
Cons: Service !! Staffing. The Sheraton is what it is... a very large, crowded, loud, overwhelmed, outdated hotel.
Location: Nothing, Traffic is terrible. Go to the other side of island to find things to do.
In a sentence, if you want an Hawaiian experience stay away from KaanapalIi / Lahina. Sheraton "resort" was overwhelmed, Loud and understaffed. Came home feeling like I had been in Cancun or Miami But at three times the cost. The Sheraton gets overrun by beach goers from all the condos and lesser resort up and down the beach. ( The Sheraton seems to welcome the extra traffic while you pay the resort fee and wait over and hour for a lunch table and cant get a chair at the pool) Get to the pool by 8:00 AM or you sit on the ground. We were there for 11 days and could not walk down the beach hand in hand with my wife due to the thousands of people converging on Kaanpalli beach and black rock. Not exaggerating when I say there was not 4 square feet to sit on the beach. Traffic a nightmare, took 1.5 hours from the airport 10MPH.The children enjoyed the large pool and the ruff surf to play in. If you went to Maui in the 70s/80s you will come home greatly disappointed. Paradise Lost. Try Kauai or the Big Island or if you have $$$$$$$ stay in Kapalui or Wailea

Great location, large property

Posted 5-Jan-2017
Please know that you may or may not get the beds you request Staff tries to accommodate All rooms seem to have balconies which is great and many have at least a partial ocean view Restaurants were pricey but you can easily walk south and find other really good options Overall good experience but you get charged a daily resort fee, parking and for chairs on the beach! Luau was convenient and included leis, food and drinks with a well done show.
