Hotel Wailea is a must-stay!Posted 20-Feb-2018
Pros: Everything. There's not much to not like about the hotel.
Cons: Make restaurant adults-only or sit families away from hotel guests. We were sitting next to a family of six that were loud and inappropriate.
Location: Beach, shops, whale-watching, running/biking and more.
Hotel Wailea is a wonderful property sitting high above Wailea with tremendous views. What's great about this property is that it's Adults Only which gives adults the perfect getaway. The staff is very friendly and there's a free shuttle service that takes you to and from Wailea. The pool temperature is perfect, the cocktails from James are incredible, and the food is flavorful. There are a lot of activities the hotel provides such as cocktail hour, which you shouldn't miss! Yoga in the mornings to several other activities for any kind of guest. The gym and wellness studio have great views of the ocean. Definitely get an ocean view room. Seeing the whales in the bay below are a highlight. There's also a romantic treehouse that is worth a leisurely stroll to on the property. Book the restaurant in advance! The food is out of this world, wonderfully prepared and presented. The lamb chops are to die for when you're there. The desserts do not disappoint! Go for the molten lava cake or soufflé. Chris is a great server and the pastry chef is hard to beat. The rooms are huge and have everything you need to include ice, fridge, and all other amenities. The large tub is dreamy. Needless to say we didn't ever want to leave. Hotel Wailea is worth every penny.

Beautiful and relaxing but way overpricedPosted 14-Jan-2018
The suite is amazing and relaxing . It is fully equipped with everything you need to eat inroom. Extremely quiet and pristine. The grounds are spectacular and well maintained. The pool is relaxing but has too much chlorine. It is an adult only which is great The menu is limited and very very expensive. The food portions are too small for the price. The staff is very helpful willing to price gode shuttle service to the beach which is about 15 fast walk. Tha is one of the disadvantage. They don’t have a spa on location but will have a service to provide in room one. Free coffee in the lobby or nespresso machine in the room which is extremely helpful. All in all great experience because it is small but be prepared to pay

All was perfect. We even had a little kitty visit us each morning for a saucer of half and half. I could seriously live here.

There were flying roaches in our room. They came and said they exterminated but they were back the 2nd night. We had to sleep with the lights on so they wouldn’t come down from the ceiling.

Amazing stayPosted 8-Nov-2017
Pros: Beautiful grounds, delicious food & drinks, friendly and helpful staff who went above and beyond to make our stay a good one.
Cons: Our airconditioning stopped working a few times - however the staff had a maintenance man out straight away both times and had it fixed within 10 mins
Location: About a 20min walk to the beach, but the Hotel also has a free shuttle. Little shopping centre also nearby and close to Kihei for restaurants.
Absolutely beautiful hotel with great staff and facilities. Fantastic food, drinks & service at both the poolside bar and restaurant. We had a great partial ocean view and our lanai looked out over a small lake on the grounds. The ground themselves are stunning with waterfalls, hammocks and beautifully manicured gardens. The staff are all very friendly, including the concierge, wait staff and even the cleaners & groundsmen always had a smile and a polite hello for us. The concierge was lovely enough to give us a lei on arrival and send a complimentary bottle of champagne to us as we were there on our honeymoon. The property also has a free shuttle to/from anywhere in Wailea which we used once to return from the local beach. There is a 'beach club' available with water and recliner chairs but not much else - very difficult to find if you're not shown but they were friendly and helpful when we did eventually find them.

What a gem. We will only stay here from now on.Posted 23-Oct-2017
Pros: Literally everything.
Cons: Maybe pool bar hours go a little longer to 7 instead of 6? But it's great the pool is open pretty much 24 hours. NICE.
I searched a lot for the perfect hotel to celebrate my 50th birthday. Well, what a blessing this hotel was! We were blown away. From the second we walked into the main open-air lobby our minds were soothed, our bodies relaxed and we were treated like royalty. Check-in: easy, quick, sincere and since we arrived early and our room wasn't ready, Chris the Operations Director, who is one of the loveliest and accommodating people, sent us to the pool bar for a complimentary drink. The pool bar: James the bartender -brilliant. He's welcoming, funny, entertaining and can mix a bomb drink. We felt we were hanging with an old friend. And the pool bar food - excellent. We ate it every day for lunch. Pool: great setup, great service (authentic and engaging) and we never felt obliged to race to the pool to find a seat. There was always room. The vibe is laid back, chill, peaceful, calming and fun as the day progresses. Room: We had an ocean view - stunning. And the room itself, high-quality furnishings and everything you'd need. The design and layout are comfortable and luxurious. Staff service outstanding. Property: Truly magical, lush and gorgeous and peaceful. Gym/Yoga room: Gym is generously equipped and Yoga was great! We took three classes. Arial Yoga - extraordinary. Highly recommend. The restaurant is 5 star. We ate 3 times and celebrated my Bday there. Perfect! Car service to Wailea was always ready to roll. All staff members are happy and engaging!

Excellent boutique feel resortPosted 22-Oct-2017
Pros: The staff, surroundings, amenities,
Cons: The central lobby could be utilized better. It is a beautiful space, though nothing happened here during our stay. Maybe a hula workshop/ live music?
Location: Great beach, snorkeling. The restaurant at Hotel Wailea offers a beautiful, well-balanced menu: it is The Best!
As I am not a frequent review writer I felt invited to rate with maximum stars after experiencing the wonderful staff, the sublime service and amenities and surroundings of well kept tropical gardens which all in all created an excellent boutique feel resort. We had a great time on Maui and our stay at Hotel Wailea has certainly contributed to this. Last but certainly not least, this is especially for Suzanne, bartender James' lovely wife: "I got an odd-job man in. He was useless. Gave him a list of eight things to do and he only did numbers one, three, five and seven." - Stephen Grant (2006) and in addition here's a tongue twister best to be shared while sipping on the delicious Odd Job cocktail created by James: : “I want to be a juror on a rural brewery robbery case.” James, could you please send me the recipe of the Odd Job cocktail as I have forgotten it. Did it contain Worcestershire and Heavy navy rum?
