Location Great, Rooms not so much

Posted 9-Jun-2017
Pros: Pool, grounds and location
Cons: I'm not sure whether there's anything that can be done to improve the rooms or adding real Lanais or balconies.
Location: Best location in Maui... Beach, Black Rock, hundreds of restaurants, zip lining up the road in Kapalua, golf.
The Maui Sheraton is located at one of the best points (Black Rock) in Maui. Water was terrific and the pool was great. The Staff was very accommodating and extremely knowledgeable. Food was terrific and drinks were great too. However, there were so many fees, Resort Fee and a huge parking fee seemed to be a bit much. Also, the room was tiny and we did not have a balcony. What we had was a sliding glass door which opened on to a Romeo & Juliet balconet, which held no one not even room for a chair. If you read their literature, it describes the room as 320 square feet, and balcony. Very well misrepresented. While the room and fees left a bit to be desired all and all we had a very nice time.

Fabulous location, great facilities.

Posted 7-Jun-2017
We were greeted by very welcoming and helpful staff who made the whole check in experience easy and enjoyable. Our oceanview room provided us with lovely views of the complex swimming pool, the beach and ocean out to Lanai Island. Generous sized deck meant we could sit outside and enjoy a morning coffee and the evening sunset. Good range of restaurants on site with the Whalers Village just a short walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed both the beach and poolside bathing. The snorkelling off the beach was great and the arrival of sea turtles really made this an awesome experience. We loved it here and would definitely stay again at this lovely resort.

Terrible place to stay

Posted 4-Jun-2017
Bugs all over! We left after one night there after we found a cockroach in our room. The hotel staff said this is just Hawaii. We changed to the Westin and that hotel is nice new and clean! This is not, overall will never recommend. Very dated and old. Don't get the upgrade, rooms and walls are full of bugs at night. All the doors at the hotel open to the outside and there's almost a 1 inch gap between the floor and the door so anything can crawl in.

Nice hotel on the beach.

Nice hotel on the beach. The bathrooms need updating and the restaurants are expensive but the staff is friendly and the views are amazing.

Beautiful Maui Location

Posted 27-May-2017
We loved the atmosphere and the location. The Sheraton team was excellent. The only drawback was the room, which was well appointed, but was very small and no lanai. Also, I felt the a 20 dollar a day parking fee was a bit much.

Big resort close to the beach, dirty rooms

Posted 27-May-2017
Pros: Great pool, close to beach and restaurants
Cons: The cleanliness of the room, upgrade of old furniture
Location: The location is close to the beach which is very convenient
We were very surprised to find that the hotel room was old and not clean - the carpet and furniture were dusty, the area around the windows and curtains was full of small dead bugs, there were food scraps under the cabinets left over from the previous guests, and worse of all the toilet bowl was not cleaned.

Very pricey 3 night stay for us here, but to be expected in one of the most beautiful and stunning places on earth. We arrived in the evening around 10:30pm as this hotel is about a 1 HOUR DRIVE from the airport. We had Pre-booked and paid for everything through Expedia, A King Bed Resort View Room, but at check-in were told there were none available, so we got "upgraded" to an Ocean View Room but with 2 Queen Beds, which was a bit upsetting being our honeymoon. And then we were charged for resort fees, at check- in $26 USD PER NIGHT. We had our 2 year old son with us and they provided a sleeping crib - No Charge. The room was very dated and old but seemed clean enough. The A/C unit by the door must have had a leak because the carpet was always wet right by the door, and this caused my 2 yr old to slip over onto the tiles outside on the balcony. The pool is awsome and if you can nab a red float bag, you can drift around on a relaxing pathway. Hanks Haut Dogs are pretty average, and the Cliff Dive restaurant is very pricey, a quick stroll down the beach reveals a handy food court, a good espresso, souvenir shopping and a trusty ABC store. Recommend only a few nights stay, as this place is $$$$
