Good hotel close to the Southeastern crescent of I-485. Very clean room and friendly staff, especially Pam in the restaurant. Breakfast buffet is $7.95; however, it is a good value with coffee, juices, and hot foods included in the price. (They will cook eggs to order, if you prefer.) Would certainly consider staying there again and/or recommending it to friends traveling in the area or locals looking to house out-of-town guests for weddings, graduations, etc.
The cleanliness of the rooms and the wonderful attitude of the staff blew me away. The breakfast serving was great and the coffee was top notch (important to me!) If ever I stay in Charlotte again, I will definitely stay here. Four days of "comfort"!
Every part of our experience was pleasant and enjoyable. The room was clean and updated. The bed was very comfy, especially the pillows! The complimentary breakfast had more options than we expected and was delicious. The staff was very helpful with directions and even helped us print out our boarding passes for our return flight (the computer in the business center wouldn't allow access to our airline's website for some reason.) I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this hotel to a friend.
"Decent Hotel, Great Breakfast, Disappointing WiFi"
I was there for 4 nights, starting Nov 16, 2015. Breakfast was always good. The WiFi was extremely disappointing. Two of the nights I could not connect my iPod touch to the WiFi. When you can connect to the wireless router, you need to open a browser to connect to the internet. FaceTime did not work, but iMessage worked.
Hostess was most accomodating with breakfast to our schedule which changed every day. She was ready to have it early or late, whatever we needed. Location kept us out of south Charlotte's horrible traffic. When we went to supper at mall areas, we were going against LONG lines of work traffic. When we returned it was gone.
This French chateau-style manor is across the street from Squirrel Lake Park and 5 miles from Providence Country Club. All …More
My experience was good enough but as a pet friendly hotel they complained when my dog was barking. Granted I wouldn't want to be bothered by a barking dog. But that is one of the reasons you get placed all the way at the other end of the hotel. The only thing I can say is if you can't handle a dog barking in a pet friendly hotel then make it a non-pet friendly hotel.
Part of Metrolina, Matthews is one of several incorporated towns that serve as a bedroom community to Charlotte. Matthews’ centerpiece is its stately brick colonial Town Hall, the seat of local government. Charlotte is easily accessible thanks to the area’s first urban highway, Independence Boulevard.
