Check in process was quick. Reception staff was always very pleasant and helpful. Beds were not pert comfortable, too soft and one felt like you were sinking but adequate. Pillows were half the size of a normal pillow. They did offer a variety of breakfast foods for free. Overall not bad for the price.
First of all, the overall experience was very good. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and I was happy with the breakfast served. Unfortunately, I can never get far from work and need a reliable and adequate Internet connection. The WiFi was excellent with several hotspots available in the hotel. But the Internet speed was horrible. Most of the 3 nights we stayed I used my phone's hotspot instead of the hotel WiFi. Some hotels have started offering a two tiered Internet where there is a free tier and a paid but faster tier. I will likely look for that kind of hotel next time I am in the area.
Every part of our experience was pleasant and enjoyable. The room was clean and updated. The bed was very comfy, especially the pillows! The complimentary breakfast had more options than we expected and was delicious. The staff was very helpful with directions and even helped us print out our boarding passes for our return flight (the computer in the business center wouldn't allow access to our airline's website for some reason.) I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this hotel to a friend.
Hostess was most accomodating with breakfast to our schedule which changed every day. She was ready to have it early or late, whatever we needed. Location kept us out of south Charlotte's horrible traffic. When we went to supper at mall areas, we were going against LONG lines of work traffic. When we returned it was gone.

Part of Metrolina, Matthews is one of several incorporated towns that serve as a bedroom community to Charlotte. Matthews’ centerpiece is its stately brick colonial Town Hall, the seat of local government. Charlotte is easily accessible thanks to the area’s first urban highway, Independence Boulevard.
