I accidently left my passport behind. They delivered my passport to my hotel in Matsumoto after my checkout. I got my passport back and I could continue my trip well. I must writing to thank them again and again. Also the hotel is nostalgic, caring staff, delicious food, good location close to Taisho lake and beautiful scenery. Kamikochi bus stops are right in front of the hotel. The area is absolutely beautiful, and the hotel itself has tons of old world charm and has been very well maintained in its 91 years. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is because the dining options are so very overpriced, and the quality was just okay. We made the mistake of not bringing enough cash with us to dine elsewhere, since most places in the area are cash only. There are no ATMs in Kamikochi, so next time we will be more prepared.
