Our one of a kind log cabin is a comfortable and cozy getaway for romantics or solitude seekers. However, if you are looking for a home away from home large enough for a family reunion or a business retreat, we can accommodate you. Two queen-size beds with cozy quilts, 2 twin beds and a futon will sleep seven. The wood-burning stove and a fully-equipped kitchen with microwave are just some of the many amenities, not to mention the free coffee and popcorn. The cabin has air conditioning, central heating and is non-smoking inside. Privacy and comfort are the key aspects to this unique property. There is no Wifi and cell phone reception is very limited but functional outside the cabin. The beauty and serenity of our log cabin with cathedral ceilings, wood stove and immense decking is unsurpassed. We offer a fully furnished kitchen, 2 twin beds in one room, queen beds in each of the remaining 2 bedrooms. The loft area has folding bed that can sleep one adult or child. The cabin is literally surrounded by wood decks and acres of trees. The decks were in poor condition, covered with debris and fallen brush. One section of the guardrail was broken, which was concerning. The garage was unusable, we had to park our cars outside. Also, the first floor bathroom only had a tub with a handheld shower which was a bit inconvenient. The cabin is a 25 minute drive from Starved Rock and Matheissien Park, but has the great amenities of home. The owner supplies everything for a comfortable stay: bedding, pillows, blankets, towels, kitchen cooking wares, utensils, paper goods ( including toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, and plastic ware), a charcoal grill, a large TV with DVD players, and tons of DVDS to borrow. It has AC, which was key, because it was in the 90’s for our stay. They also offer a fire pit. My only complaint…there was no firewood.
