We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay. The website is clear on the layout of the house as well as your own bathroom adjacent to your room. It is a house, with one other room occupied. So, it is not unlike other B&B's. It is not a hotel/motel. I'm not sure what you mean by upgrades. If you felt the room was not clean enough, you should have let us know during your stay. Our cleaning crew is generally very conscientious. We aim to please, but it is true that you cannot plese all of the people all of the time. We do, however, have a guest book in the hall with a year's worth of glowing reviews from our guests, with some coming back repeatedly, including the couple from New Jersey that stayed while you were there. It was their second four day visit and they just emailed that they will be back. Again, we are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay.

Thank you for your review. We enjoyed meeting you. The Inn is located across the road from a national park and surrounded 360* by undeveloped land. Just to clarify, the house is 2700 sq. ft. As I explained when greeting you, we only book one room with adjacent bathroom unless a family or friends wish to share. Therefore, at any given time, only two rooms are occupied. Most of our guests store food in the refrigerator. The kitchen was never meant for guests to cook, since some guests might find food smells offensive, not to mention conflicting meal preparation.Hope to see you again!

Sorry to say that almost all businesses close by 9 PM. Except the Old Western Saloon. We are in the country. The nearest food would be 20 miles inland.

We are baffled by this review. You left this message in our guest book upon checkout "Beautiful setting! QUIET and PEACEFUL". The next day you called to alert us to the incident of 2 nights during your stay (now 3?). We spoke with that individual as well as the other guests staying at that time. None could collaborate your experience. As you stayed here 4 nights, we do not understand why you did not address this with us after the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd occurrence. As to your other issues: Check in is after 4PM. We rarely know when our guests are going to arrive, be it 11AM or PM. While we are generally here to greet our guests, we cannot always do so. 99.9% do not find this to be a problem. It is a house and easy to figure out. You were sent detailed information about your room when you booked. There are also 3 phone numbers for us in the entry. When I came over to meet you cornered me in the entryway and we had a pleasant and rather lengthy conversation, part of which was how to contact us next door, you seemed a little nervous. You said you knew you were not allowed to eat in the Inn but that all restaurants were closed. I said it is fine to eat in the Inn but cooking was not allowed as posted. Then I smelled the food heating. As other guests do not want to smell your dinner, I asked you to stop. I do know how to turn of the oven. As you arrived at 4:30, there were 4 restaurants within a 2 to 4 mile radius that are open until 7.8 and 9PM. This is a list of these and their times of operation in the entryway. Per the notice on the front door, the Fire Department mandates exterior doors may not be locked in case of poor visibility while trying to exit a fire. All bedrooms have working keys and locks. Your room is 6 steps around the corner from the entryway, with 4 doors with windows facing east, north and west. At 4:30PM the hall is light filled and there is a hall light with a switch if needed. The shades in your room have pull cords and are in working order. We came over several times during your stay, but as you were in your room, we did not disturb you. We do not do so unless necessary. However, with the shade up, you probably saw us coming. The only thing we can think of that you might have heard was the garage door opening and closing in the morning and evening. A guest had an expensive electric mountain bike in the garage. Also, our neighbors' bulls were particularly vocal during that period. That is all we can figure out. Again, we wish you would have addressed this with us at the time.

Thank you for your feedback. Just to let you know that this time of the year we have a lot of critters running around. Foxes coyotes skunks and a bobcat here in there. That’s generally what sets off the security light. Then the dogs bar to chase away the varmints. My apologies. thank you.

Thank you. Our breakfast is limited to foods that are basically untouched for sanitary reasons. Therefore we do use Costco’s food to fit our needs to give our guests a healthy start to their day. Don’t most people shop at Costco? As far as charging your electric car and bicycles, that’s something we will have to discuss with each guest. Thanks again, Steve, innkeeper
