It's about a 10-minute drive to the restaurants in Marblemount and 30 to the National Park visitor center in Newhalem. The cabin is clean, elegant, and well equipped. The check-in procedure had several steps, but the hosts communicated this clearly (with pictures!) and everything went smoothly.This place is definitely off grid; when we stayed, we needed to boil water, and we were advised that internet and power are sometimes unreliable. That said, there was plenty of equipment in the kitchen for boiling and storing water, and we didn't have any issues with the internet or power during our stay! Note that one of the bedrooms has a door that closes, but the other one is separated from the open-plan living area only by a step and a 3-foot wall.Kids will love this cabin (ours did!), but be cautious whenever any young children are outdoors, because it is so close to a fast-moving river. ##### Diana P.
