Please do not ride ATV's down the private roads or on the powerline trail. Please be empathetic to the neighbors that live in the neighborhood full-time\*\*\* NEW ADDITIONS: Volleyball net on the beach for guest to use, outdoor shower, 4 (1 double, & 3 single) kayaks, paddle boat and an electric V2 car charger in the garage! Also added - Dish Network for your TV viewing. You will be hard-pressed to find another vacation rental with this beautiful view of lake Michigan and 300 feet of private-untouched sandy shoreline. This home is truly a shoreline oasis. With wrap-around deck and enclosed sun porch, you won't miss a minute of the sunrise. Shoreline Oasis is a 3 bedroom/1 full bathroom cottage which sleeps 8 comfortably. There is laundry onsite, a cozy kitchen, coffee bar and wi-fi for those working while vacationing. Grab your friends or family and BBQ on the deck while you watch the kids play in the water and hear the waves tumble ashore. Less than 12 miles to Manistique makes Shoreline Oasis a convenient location yet still private & secluded. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Air Conditioning: There is no air conditioning at this property. However, there are a few fans for guests to use. ATV's: ATV's are welcome. Please do not drive on the beach, but there are nearby trails. Animals: Deer, squirrel, variety of birds, racoons. Bathroom: One full bathroom with shower and tub Beach/Swimming: The shoreline of Lake Michigan is absolutely gorgeous. Private Sandy beach for 300 ft. There is also a volleyball net setup and balls are in the garage. Bedroom Configuration: Bedroom #1: main floor-- 1 Queen bed Bedroom #2: upstairs-- 1 Queen bed Bedroom #3: upstairs(loft area)—1 Full bed, 2 twin beds on opposite end (not fully enclosed) Boats: 4 kayaks- 1 double & 3 single, & paddle boat for guest use (Memorial Day to Labor Day) Bugs: On top of the standard Michigan bugs, especially in May/June, there are generally 2 weeks where the mayflies can be intense. Keep in mind that there are mosquitos, especially at dusk, since you are so close to the water's edge. Car Charger: There is a V2 car charger located in the garage for guest use. Some guests may choose to bring bottled water for drinking. Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city. Fireplace: Electric fireplace Fire-pit: There is firepit for guests to use on the beach. Fishing: Please be sure to bring your own poles as there are none at this property. Also, in order to fish in Michigan lakes, one is required to hold a fishing license. Click here to purchase your fishing license online. Garage: There is a garage which is used for toys. Guests can place snowmobiles/atv/boats inside. Grill: A propane grill is present. Propane is provided. Grocery Store: Manistique has many stores to shop in, which is only 12 miles away. Handicap Friendly: Let us explain what we mean by handicap friendly…there is a zero-1 step entry into this home, and it is one level (a ranch-style home). The bathrooms and hallways are not up to official handicap standards and do not come equipped with special apparatus to help those in need. Hot Tub- 6-person hot tub added this Spring! Internet: Yes…There is wi-fi. It can be intermittent since the property is remote. Zoom calls and video streaming are not recommended. Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I'll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels. Outdoor Shower: To wash off a fun day in the sand there is an outdoor shower for you to rinse off. Parking: PLEASE BE CAREFUL when it comes to turning around. It is easy to get your car/truck/trailer stuck in the sand. Tows are not easy in the U.P. Up to 5 cars can park comfortably or a 2 truck/trailer combo. Pets: Dogs are welcome (up to 2)! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed. Privacy: It is a very private space. Seniors: Come one, come all! This space is great for those over 60\. Sometimes when renting a home, you are never too sure about the terrain: is the home on top of a hill, is parking on a steep slope, are there 100 steps to the beach or the unit, etc. This home gets the FVR approval for the young at heart! Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.
