The only think I did not like was a very loud noise in the morning that probably came from the nearby "Mandalay Station." Durch die Doppelfenster bekommt man vom Straßenlärm wenig mit. Ausstattung und Service sind gut. Das Frühstück wird auf der Dachterrasse serviert, von der man einen guten Überblick über die Stadt hat. Das Personal hilft gern bei Ausflügen. It was knowing that our stays were brief that didn't have us look for another hotel in Mandalay. If we had been staying more than a day at a time, we would have looked elsewhere. My wife and I talked and we just got the sense that the staff, although very friendly either had little to no hotel management experience or were just way in over their collective head. Our first night there we discovered we had no hot water for morning showers. On our way back through town our room's TV didn't work and the WiFi access for our floor didn't work. Not slow WiFi, which I would understand giving what I would assume is limited bandwidth, but the inability to give us a password that would log us in. All beds are much firmer in Asia, but Swearngin (we started calling it that after out favorite character from Deadwood) set the bar for hardest beds on our trip. When we went up to the restaurant for dinner, the first bad sign was that none else was there. The host asked if we would like to dine at there rooftop bar, which sounded good, so we made our way up to the roof, where we were promptly told by the bartender that dinner is not served on the roof. So back down we go. We order and with no one else in the restaurant, it takes close to 45 minutes to get our food. We wondered later if the delay was defrosting the food. Again, the people were nice and wanted to help, but they just seemed like ##### Bill
