It was half the price of the premier inn across the road and every bit as comfortable. After a long day I only want a comfortable sleep. Nice stay will use again.

The property is quite old and not maintained too well. We were given a room with paint peeling off the bathroom walls and floors creaking badly when you walk. The rooms were clean but the property isnt maintained well

Unfortunately, this hotel is only worth it if the double room price is under £40/night. It definitely needs refurbishment on all levels to be worthy more.

We booked a double room to be told whe we got there they only had twin rooms left. All throughout the night there was a high piched soud every few minutes.

Would not visit again.
The young man behind the desk was very polite when I first arrived. But soon as i walked into my room it was red hot me and my partner couldn't get no sleep. The room smelt like cannabis, then i come to find someone had actually smoked it in there as there was Ash and tobacco on the window cill. Photos to prove this! This just proved the room wasn't clean as those window cills should be disinfectant! The hair dryer didn't work, the amount of noise from other guests was terrible. Banging arguing and shouting to all hours. Me and my partner left a day early even though we had booked and paid for two nights.

I made a booking and turned up only to be turned away. The security/concierge at the door said the hotel was fully booked. So why make me pay and travel to the hotel if it is fully booked. Very unhappy

Handy hotel halfway between Glasgow and London
If you are looking for form over function this is not your place. It’s a Britannia Hotel not a chain know for high stars but if you need a cheap place to flop then you can’t beat the price I paid compared to Premier Inn or Travelodge.

Great value and location.
Brilliant value for money. This is an inexpensive hotel, so be mindful of this, don’t expect it to be 5*. I will happily stay again and I wish there were more hotels in the UK like this one.

Stayed one night on 9/4/21 the lady behind reception desk was fantastic and really helpful.Had a slight issue in bedroom that she sorted out for me,i stay at a lot of brittania hotels and this one for me is one of the best ones.

The hotel was only offering a basic service due to covid but this was reflected in the cheap price. As i needed wifi the receptionist showed me different rooms so i could pick the best reception and was extremely helpful would definately stay again

Cannot complain too much for the price paid, Ned was comfy enough. The guy on check in was efficient and friendly. I didn’t like being woke up by the gardeners at 8.30 though as I had a late night the night before. Window wouldn’t close in room 201 either.

i had this booked for one of our engineers he has advised that the room smelt of urine, there was no breakfast (paid for bed and breakfast) the television didnt work and there was not internet available just down right dirty!!!! the toilet the handle was broken and kept coming out

Ashes to Ashes
On arriving you think you have done an "Ashes to Ashes" time travel back to the 70s or 80s but it's OK - certainly for the price! It's evidently very popular with White Van Man but they all shoot off to work very early so if you get up at a normal time you wonder why you're the only person staying there. The worst thing about it is the sticker in the bathroom which says "not drinking water". That filled me with dread! The staff were/are great and very helpful and gave me lots of the minute towels which seem to be the only size they have.

Hotel.com don’t seem to know restaurant closed due to Covid and are still offering breakfast as an option, it’s not. Whole place is tired, photos don’t show this. So beds old and not very comfortable. They have cleaned on the surface, but needs a deep clean or refurb.

Horrible. Avoid like the plague.
Absent service desk staff. Eventually arrived. Bluntly told to use touch screen to enter my vehicle details, if I "didn't want to get a fine". Hotel smelled. The room had a sticker saying that it had been sanitized - I doubt very much it had even been cleaned. The bath was full of soap scum. The sink (apart from having two different taps) had hair in it. The bedside table had crisp crumbs, and there was some sort of sticky brown substance on the dressing table. The chairs were threadbare and dirty. The room smelled stale like the caravans I stayed in as a kid in the 80's. The outside of the hotel was so disheveled, it looked abandoned. To describe this place as tired would be an understatement - dilapidated is closer the mark. I paid en extra £15 for breakfast. I was told (in the morning) that there were no breakfasts and that the kitchen was closed. I was also told that I should ask Hotels.com for a refund. After called the hotel to confirm, I was told I could have a £5 refund for breakfast. I said this wasn't good enough as I had not received what I had paid for. They said I could have £8 "as a gesture of good will". Terrible, horrible place. Avoid!
