Oasis in Heart of Granada Simply the best villa in Granada. A gorgeous and unique 6,000 sq. ft. 5 bedroom colonial villa in the heart of town and the showcase of Granada's colonial house walking tour. Built in the 1750s and given a 2-year loving restoration to preserve original architectural details and integrate modern amenities, the villa has a lush central courtyard with a 40' long pool to cool off on hot afternoons. Most houses in Granada charge you separately for electricity. We don't. Please see our Electrical consumption policy at the bottom of this description. \*\*\* \== Best Location in Granada == Casa Blanca is the best located home in Granada. Situated at the top end of the "pedestrianized" Calle La Calzada the home is right next door to Granada's famous cathedral and just steps from the bustling central park. \== Accommodations == The living areas are organized around the extensive corridors. The main corridor features an antique rocking chair and coffee table set comfortably laid out beneath a powerful ceiling fan. There is another more relaxed seating area situated the opposite end of the pool to the main dining area. The home has two classical colonial living rooms with doors directly into the pedestrian street Calle La Calzada. Casa Blanca is one of the stops on the tours of colonial villas. \== Bedrooms == The home features five bedrooms in the following arrangement \- A 2nd floor en-suite master bedroom, with a king-size bed. Airconditioning. A private balcony overlooks the courtyard and has a view of the cathedral dome. It features a double shower with a view of the courtyard, claw-foot iron tub, bidet. \- Two double bedrooms each with a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom. Each has AC \- One family suite which is two connected rooms; one has a queen bed and the other a two single beds. . The twin bed room in the family suite can double up as a TV room. NOTE: these rooms share one AC unit. For the two single beds to be cooled, the door connecting the two spaces has to be open. \- The fifth bedroom located beyond the kitchen on the ground floor is suitable for a live-in nanny or maid and has a single bed, private bathroom. This room has no AC but has an overhead fan. \== Fully Equipped and Beautifully Furnished == The home is thoroughly well furnished with exquisite furniture from the local manufacturer Simplamente Madera, who use only the very finest certified hard woods. There are lots of different places (all in shade) to rest with great dining table and kitchen area. It is a wonderful pool for cooling down and great location. It was literally a block from the main square in one direction and a block from a variety of restaurants and shops in the other direction. This was perfect for my elderly mother who has difficulty walking long distances. We loved the layout of the rooms where every room opened up into the courtyard with the pool. The pool was also a refreshing reprieve from the heat. Check in was super easy and the property manager will happily organize taxis from the airport or within other places in Nicaragua or other assistance you may need. While I mentioned that the location was in the heart of Granada, this could potentially be a turnoff for some people because it could get noisy (we were there during Christmas celebrations where there were activities in the plaza every night), but we preferred to be close to the activities and accept the noise in the street. The absolute best part of the home is the location!, located in the heart of Granada and walkable to so much, close to many restaurants and shops. Must try is Garden Cafe for breakfast and dinner! Quick 10min drive to Islets of Granada for a sunset boat tour and easy 30min drive to Laguna de Apoyo for a day trip to Posada Ecologica la Abuela. She made me and my family feel welcome and safe! I booked this property via Vrbo two months in advance and was unsure what to expect since it was my first time traveling with my family to Nicaragua. We loved the house and the fact they paid attention to details. They welcomed us with freshly made lemonade, beautiful flowers, delicious coffee, sugar, and safe drinking water! The location of the house was close to everything, and we felt safe! The pool is beautiful, and the house is gorgeous! I will recommend you stay here! This house only needs air conditioning in one of the bedrooms! Only 4 of the five bedrooms had air conditioning! The house is just as it looks in the photos and had everything we could have needed. The pool was beautiful and a lovely way to cool down and for the kids to have fun. The house is right on the main thoroughfare. We kept joking that literally everything was within 5 blocks. Great communication on setting up our check in and the PM stocked up some basics, per our request, for a minimal fee. They also helped us plan a couple excursions and transportation. Casa Blanca is truly a gem. I was able to lease out the entire home for a girls trip. There was ample space and bathrooms, the house was spotless when we arrive and the property manager was very attentive to our needs. I have been visiting Granada for many years and this was one of my favorite places to stay with a large group of friends. We all had plenty of space and the outdoor courtyard was great for socializing. Located right on the main Calle so it can be a bit noisy at night. The inner courtyard with the beautiful pool and gardens, was just spectacular. We spent many hours in the hot part of the day swimming in the pool, mornings in the hammock or sipping Nicaraguan coffee while watching the hummingbirds in the garden, and nights swimming under the stars. The kitchen was well equipped and they had a few staples for us already - sugar, coffee, some nice cookies. We didn't cook much because it was too convenient to go out for meals, the house is located right in the restaurant district. There are several really tempting restaurants just down the street. For breakfasts we went to Cafe de Arte, which is about 30 feet from the door and has the most delicious smoothies and great Nica breakfasts. Great pancakes too! The rooms were so comfortable and the beds were like Heaven. The AC worked great. We went during a festival weekend so we did have noise at night, but nothing we couldn't sleep through. And it was super fun to walk right outside and be in the heart of the festival. The staff were excellent. So kind and accommodating. We loved having Francisco as our driver and tour guide! He was so great with the kids and went out of his way to help us navigate our first time in Nica. Check in and check out was a breeze. Great communication for the rental, great information, easy pick up at the airport and arrangement of tours. Thank you so much!
