Beautiful venu for a wedding! Loved every minute of it , Lovely staff helping us throughout breakfast and the evening of the wedding! Would stay again!

Lovely setting and the rooms are spacious and clean with good showers. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Didn’t have breakfast but at £25.00 each I thought was too expensive . London hotels and the ones in central York don’t charge that.

Stayed many times before.excellent hotel, very quiet rooms Sadly restaurant has a very noisy machine which compelled us to leave and eat in our room. Staff couldn’t turn it off Also hotel is a £40 taxi from York so you really need to go there by car

Visited for my 30th birthday. Perfect from start to finish. Best place I’ve ever been. Food was perfect, service was amazing, everything was spotless. Cannot wait to return.

Good Evening, First of all I would like to thanks everyone for an amazing weekend. From the moment we arrived to leaving both my wife and I loved every minute. We got married in the summer but due to my mother inlaw passing just after we never got a honeymoon. So we decided to combine that with my wife's 50th Birthday and have a mini moon lol. All I can say is a Big Thank You from us both. You have a lovely hotel and amazing polite and friendly staff. I would like to mention Sam in the bar, He is such a polite young man with such an amazing work ethic. I wish him well in the future with his career in the Marines. Again Thanks for making our stay special, we will definitely be back.

The hotel was a delight , modern and stylish . Staff were fantastic and a big thanks to Matt for upgrading us , spa was lovely as was dinner in their fine restaurant with views of the countryside. Will certainly stay again.

This is a lovely hotel - some great facilities and in a lovely country location. They are in the progress of renewing and expanding so there is building work going on and there will be a great new spa (the old one is OK but too small and once there are a few people in there it feels full, not enough seating etc). Food was nice, good breakfast and the staff were very friendly. The rate we were on was well below advertised price but our room reflected that, it was noisy due to being next to the main extractor fan from the kitchen.

Amazing Hotel
Amazing hotel with new features since our previous visits a few years ago. Great staff. surroundings and food. Not cheapest hotel but worth the cost. Some building work now and into April. Did not spoil our stay.

This is a beautiful estate, the standard of the rooms were excellent and the food/service very very good. The only negative would be the spa area for me, there is a considerable amount of mold in the women’s showers, the steam room and sauna door both fit close with a good seal and aren’t particularly warm.

Tranquil setting within nearby travel to York , bespoke decoration of a very well run establishment with great quality food and professional staff . Once the new spa facilities are finished this will be a truly stunning location on every level

This property is very clean, the rooms are great and well stocked with everything you need and the staff is amazing! We only stayed for 1 night was we were passing though but we will definitely come back and stay a longer period of time to really enjoy everything the property has to offer

Lovely hotel. Stayed in a family room with a pull out sofa bed. The children said it was a comfortable sofa bed. The food here is very nice. Breakfast was delicious. The famous greatest showman bar was impressive. Really enjoyed my stay there. There is no air conditioning in the rooms but a fan was supplied in the room. The pool area is a bit tired but I believe there is big renovation plan.

excellent stay
Lovely hotel with good facilities including spa, pool, gym and golf course. Staff at the hotel very helpful and pleasant always eager to engage. Room comes with nice touches (Molton Brown products) and the bed was large and comfortable. One minor issue is breakfast staff need to pay more attention and replenish the breakfast bar products along with clearing empty cereal boxes etc.

Wonderful stay
We stayed at the hotel for one night in a standard room with a balcony. Check in was really straight forward and we received a very warm welcome. A member of staff collected our bags and delivered them to our room while someone else showed us around the ground floor. We visited the Squadron Bar for coffee and drinks which was wonderful. We also visited the health club which was so quiet and very relaxing. We ordered room service and were really surprised by how quickly the food arrived. It was delicious, very fresh and service was amazing. The vegan chocolate brownie was the best dessert I have ever eaten. Breakfast was great as was the service and check out was very straight forward. We’ve visited the hotel several times but this was the first visit since the refurbishment and change of ownership and the difference is unbelievable. Such an improvement. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend it. We’ll definitely be back for a visit very soon.

The staff on arrival couldn’t do enough for us. Our bags were taken to the room and any slight thing we needed like pillows were brought for us. Perfect couple of days away for my wife’s birthday.
