We had a great time at this hotel. Everything was great, including the service and comfortable rooms. Al the staff members are amazing and extremely accommodating. We wished the hotel had a spa and a faster wifi, but it was not a deal breaker.

This is an absolute must-stay property. It is gorgeous, the rooms are impeccably clean and modern with so many small touches. The staff is beyond compare and made us feel like family. The food is amazing and the free breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We loved every aspect of our stay and will stay here again if the opportunity allows. Splurge for the suites with the private pool if you can. You will not regret it, I promise.

The staff here (Demetrios especially) get an A for warmth and hospitality. The hotel itself is beautiful, with an amazing view of the hillside below and sea, off in the distance. We loved the private hot tub and delicious food, and sweet personal note greetings/farewell as well as a daily sweet treat in our room. The only thing that could have made it better was if there was a courtesy shuttle that brings you down to the beach/town--even if there was a small charge. Since the customers are generally from out of town, we would need an umbrella/chairs/blanket etc. I think most people would be willing to rent them for the day so that could help offset the shuttle. It's too far to walk and carry so much and climb back up the big hill at the end of the day and going into town with a private taxi gets pricey. Just an idea. Anyhow, we loved our stay there!

The hotel is amazing, the rooms incredible! Book the couples massage, they take place one after the other and when it's your partner's turn you get the nicest pool at hotel all to yourself! 10/10

wonderful suite with private pool excellent design of the new area - pool bar and restaurant in the new area are not open yet - breakfast does not match the quality of the new hotel facility But we are sure it will be a fantastic place once the whole new area is open next year! Highly recommended!

The rooms were stunning, we had a private pool and it was so worth it! The views from everywhere in the hotel are gorgeous. Clean rooms, luxurious and comfortable! The only downside is that it is away from the main city but we were ok with that since we mostly wanted to have a relaxing couple of days before the next leg of our honeymoon! Highly recommend :)

I woke up to birds, sheep & beautiful sunrises over the sea of Crete. The majestic landscape, the friendliness/attentiveness of the staff, and the thoughtful layout of the entire resort beg you to sit, relax, swim, eat, drink, and savor every moment at this magical little place. I rented a car and explored as much as I could but I could easily have spent days watching the sunlight reveal shades of blue I’ve never seen before from a chaise near one of the many pools. What a gift the Happy Cretin shares!

Everything about this property was perfect. The staff were all lovely, the people were nice and the view was absolutely beautiful during the day and at night. The food was delicious and the room was cleaned & spotless everyday. The staff were always ready to help at all times. The location was great, very relaxing and close to the beach where there was also many restaurants & cafes. Such a lovely place that made our trip unforgettable. I highly recommend.

A truely wonderful experience at Happy Cretan Suites. The staff were excelent and welcoming from time of arrival to our departure. The rooms clean, well maintained, and comfortable with attention to the little details. The hotel restaurant prepared a delicious meal, glad we made the choice to dine at the hotel. We would absolutely recommend this location and plan to stay here again on our next visit to Crete.

The property is quiet with an amazing sea view from the top. Live music plays on the weekend and the staff are all very kind and helpful. The staff were always busy cleaning which kept the hotel extremely clean.

Everything was just absolutely amazing with this hotel! Very clean rooms and they come in everyday to clean up leaving a little treat sometimes... every room has an outdoor patio that faces the ocean. The hotel is located a 5 minute drive from the village of Agia Pelagia and its beach and also a 20 minute drive from the airport in Heraklion. (Hour to an hour and a half from caves and other big cities). The staff is just beyond delightful and is willing to help you in any way! Amentities include a gym, pool and spa where they offer a hydro massage and full body massage. They offer breakfast each morning and everyday is different with variety. Their restaurant offers dinner by reservation and full adult beverage bar. Just an overall great place to stay! As someone who spent days searching for places to stay in Crete, I highly recommend this!

If you're looking for a tranquil, friendly and well appointed boutique resort where you can watch the sun rise and fall whilst admiring a truly beautiful vista and listening to the sheep and goats being herded across the valley, this is it. We truly loved it! The staff are also incredibly friendly, the salt water pool and main resort area is beautifully located and the restaurant's food is stunning. The rooms are also clean, bright and well appointed, and the resort itself feels intimate and very peaceful, with incredibly attentive staff who can't do enough to ensure your stay is memorable.

Top 4 Star Hotel located close to Heraklion
This is an excellent 4 star hotel located close to Heraklion and the main road running along the north coast of Crete. The local beaches of Pelagia are a 5-10 minute drive away - the hotel is located above the main town in a peaceful location with views over the Aegean sea. The hotel is well appointed with a bar / restaurant / breakfast room and a good sized swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds. We had a Deluxe Suite which we found comfortable and relaxing. There were two balconies - one in the bedroom, the other in the lounge area - both afforded views over the coast. The fridge mini-bar in the room was well equipped and with room service other items could be brought to your room for a reasonable rate. We found our Suite to be modern and attractively furnished, the in room safe was of a reasonable size. We took our breakfasts at the front of the hotel near the pool - there was a good choice of foods available with a choice of hot and cold foods including fried eggs on toast, scrambled eggs, yoghurt, bread, jams, honies etc. In addition, the waitress would attend your table with fresh fruit and orange juice. Other options including omelettes could be cooked whilst you waited.

Wonderful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. View is stunning and the place is peaceful and relaxing. Good breakfast with lots of fresh baked goods. Beaches are close by however driving to and from is not for the faint of heart. You can always hire a local taxi for a nominal fee. Always a little extra something awaited us in our room each evening. ie Chilled Sparkling Wine and/or lovely sweets. We highly recommend this quant hotel for a nice break from the hustle and bustle of life.

Nice hilltop location - lovely view.
We had intended doing a bit of touring but ended up spending most of our time round the pool. The layout was perfect for relaxing and the staff so friendly and obliging we felt really pampered. The food was excellent - we actually had all our evening meals there - outside by the pool.

Very Happy Cretan
Everyone working at the Happy Cretan is simply amazing, and bend over backwards to make sure you're happy and relaxed the whole time. The food was delicious, and the pool was amazing to just doze and relax by with nice chill-out music coming from the bar the whole time. the gym on site is perfectly adequate with everything you need for a holiday workout, from a bench with free-weights to a cross trainer, cycling machine, and a treadmill.

Amazing place to stay. The staff are lovely. Great views and good location 6 euro taxi to beach and restaurants or 25 min walk. Hotel was spotless and the food was great including breakfast buffet the staff would also make fresh stuff for you too eggs and bacon toastie pancakes etc. Would 100% recommend.

A happy Cretan
Fantastic hotel with the most friendliest and hard working staff imaginable. Pool area was great, excellent selection for breakfast and rooms were tidy, we'll kept and with excellent views of the sea from its position in the hills. Would recommend car hire as its a trip down into Pelagia, but for value for money and a restful trip, it ticked all the boxes.

Lovely friendly staff, beautiful hotel & room. The shower was only hot in the evenings unfortunately. And you need a car to get around as it's quite a trek to the nearest decent beach and taxis are quite expensive. I'd say don't go half board if you're even slightly fussy with food as there isn't much choice. Nice quiet area, not much night life at all.

The hotel had lovely views and the staff were friendly and helpful. You need a car if you want to travel around and see the sights, or, to go to the beach (30 minute walk down a very big hill!). The food was lovely, and there were facilities round the pool such as table tennis if you have children that need entertaining.
