This is undoubtedly a beautiful hotel with very polite and attentive staff so rather than chatter on about all the many good things I'll limit my comments to the few negatives.
We were up graded because I am an Expedia Gold card holder but nevertheless the room we were allocated was rather small and the towels had seen better days.
I have stayed in Makati many times and feel for just a little extra cost it is better to stay at the New World hotel just a short distance from the Dusit Thani.
Pleasant hotel for short stays. Small but efficient rooms. The rooms that I have stayed in are nice and quiet. Convenient to shopping, grocery store, etc. Not a lot of nice restaurants nearby, but many within a short taxi ride. The reception staff was very friendly and efficient and so was the breakfast staff. No juice on the breakfast buffet.
"Convenient location to shopping and restaurants."
My overall experience is wonderful. Although the hotel is old, it's location is convenient to everything and all the staff are respectful and helpful. And the most important thing for me is feeling safe in the area.
Overall, a very good stay. There were a couple of minor niggles with the rooftop bar. One of these was I ordered 2 gin and tonics, and one can of tonic would have sufficed for both drinks but I was told I had to also have the additional tonic??? Also a little later the bar was closing and we felt a little like we were being hurried out. However, an overall good stay at a hotel that delivers value for money.
Could not find fault in terms of staff service and room cleanliness. The location is just so close to major shopping complex - if you like shopping. City Garden is a nice no frill but comfortable hotel.

This is the commercial and financial centre of town, with Ayala Avenue considered the equivalent of New York’s Wall Street. Many multi-national companies have set up headquarters, alongside up-market shopping malls, luxury hotels, and a variety of cultural and recreational distractions. The relatively high numbers of ex-pats give the district a distinct cosmopolitan flavour.
