We had a busy start to our trip to Canada and arriving here for two nights was just the perfect place to take it a little slower and enjoy the surrounding. Our hosts were responsive and helpful on booking and our check in was easy. We felt very welcome not just by our hosts but by some of the local fauna who like to say hello. We enjoyed the walks through the woods and by the lake, and being in a 'dark skies' area were treated a spectacular night sky. We loved that kayaks and canoes were available for free. Although there is a grill outside, IF there had been an oven, the kitchen would have been even better for preparing food. There are not many restaurants nearby nor grocery stores, so be aware before you stay @ this beautiful, serene spot. We stayed in a lodge room for just a single night arriving after dark. The office was dark and there was no sign on the outside of the door to indicate how to contact anyone. Some guests walking their dogs told us the office was open and there was a sign inside as to what to do. All worked well and we were tucked into our room before long. Rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. In the morning we walked around the property and explored some. They have boardwalks all along the riverside with sitting and picnic areas. There is also a tenting area and cabins. The area is quiet and the stars are bright. The property is quiet and surrounded by beautiful trees. We were there off season and it was nice to sit on the front porch and listen to the red squirrels chatter and watch the chipmunks.
