"Great place"

"We loved the location of Susan’s cottage. She was so easy and nice to communicate with prior to arrival. We loved being able to walk to the small town one way, and down to the point the other way. The cottage was immaculate. Our favorite part was being able to walk out the back door and after about five minutes be at the beach of Lake Superior. A beautiful and wild lake. The beach was a perfect mix of sand and rocks. Great place to launch our kayak. We also loved being close to Pictured Rocks. I highly recommend going to Sable Falls and following the trail to the lake. The only thing to keep in mind is that the town has only the bare minimum of groceries. It was hard for us to find vegetables. The locals told us the nearest place for this was in Newberry or Manistique. Otherwise, we had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the kids loved the recliners, and the fire pit just behind the house was a perfect way to end our nights. Overall a great, comfortable house. "This hotel is run how a hotel should be. All staff I encountered are attentive and kind. The whole place is spotless, except for dated carpet in stairwell and rooms. Other than that, perfect . Soft towels, clean room, good breakfast with healthy options (plain oatmeal, hard boiled eggs) as well as usual offerings."

"We lost our daughter 8 yrs ago. Since then we try and have us all together every chance we can. We plan on a family vacation 1 time a year since we all live in different parts of the state and can work our busy schedule together. We haven't been able to do it every year but we try. This year we all agreed on Copper Barndominium. It has everything. Enough room for all of us. With them having a big place with toys for the Great Grandkids can play. And not have to worry about them. They were right there inside where we watch them. They had a blast. 5 minutes from Lake Superior. Frist time seeing it for most of us. Would definitely recommend to any one. We loved it. As my 3year old Great Grand Daughter said as we were leaving "this was awsome"."

"Wonderful property and hosts. We stayed 7 days and enjoyed the lakefront, Pictured Rocks, Munising, and Grand Marais. Great communication with the hosts and plenty to do on the lake. The hosts made sure we had driving directions and arrived safely. The cottage has wonderful views of Nevins Lake and had all the amenities we needed for cooking, relaxing, playing and evening campfires. We hope to come back!"

Plenty of activities nearby but you may just want to stay on site to watch the wildlife in the yard and the freighters go by.Kim is a great host and better tour guide.Great advice about shopping for groceries and gas in the area and knows all the where to go and what to do in the UP."
