Beautiful historic building completely renovated with all modern amenities and elevator, the building is completely brand new inside, but with original facade outside on popular Huertas street, extremely close to Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia Museums and the Palacio Real (Royal Palace), in historic downtown center of Madrid, the famous Barrio de las Letras. The apartment has a very comfortable Queen bed ( 160 cm ) and 2 sofa beds in the living area. The bedroom has 3 walls and is not totally private. You can see it in the pictures. I have lived in Madrid for the past decade, glad to help you choose the best places to visit in and around Madrid. The apartment is right next to Plaza de Santa Ana. Near Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor and the Museums. The Metro subway station is a few steps away, so that you may easily move around Madrid, as well as a short walk to the Atocha Main Train station. Toutefois le double vitrage et la climatisation permettent de s'isoler et de bien dormir. Appartement très propre et bien équipé. Nous n'avons pas rencontré la propriétaire mais avons eu des contacts par téléphone et sms avec une bonne réactivité de sa part. Globalement, la location était satisfaisante. Les points positifs: - un très bon accueil, aucun problème. A notre arrivée, la personne qui nous accueillis était présente, très sympathique, elle nous a très bien expliqué les lieux. La propriétaire, Gorete, nous a très bien renseigné par mail et elle est aussi venue nous voir à l'appartement durant notre séjour afin de s'assurer que tout se passait bien. - la situation de l'appartement est absolument idéale. Nous avons tout fait à pieds. Les musées sont tout près, on est au cœur de la ville. Les commerces sont juste à côté, ainsi que de nombreux restaurants et bars. On ne peut pas faire mieux. La gare Atocha n'est pas loin non plus, nous avons pu nous rendre une journée à Tolède. - la résidence est très belle (avec un concierge) et très bien entretenue. L'appartement est au premier étage, il y a un ascenseur. - l'appartement est décoré avec goût, c'est très très agréable. Tout fonctionne très bien et c'est très propre. Les points négatifs: - le lit en 160 n'est pas de mauvaise qualité, mais il ne nous a pas convenu car il était un peu dur. - malgré le double vitrage, le bruit dans la rue la nuit nous a gêné pour dormir. Mais on ne peut pas tout avoir! La situation de l'appartement est idéale, mais le prix à payer est l'animation dans les rues la nuit. A Madrid, les gens sortent et se couchent très tard! Pour information, la chambre n'est pas séparée complètement de la pièce à vivre. On passe devant le lit pour accéder à la salle de bain et aux toilettes. Ce qui ne nous a pas gêné car nous n'étions que deux. ##### stéphanie b. Le quartier est très vivant et très joli. Et aussi très calme. Accueil chaleureux de Gorete , la propriétaire. Gorete nous a donné quelques bonnes adresses de restaurants dont celui qui est juste en bas de l'appartement au numéro 12 et aussi de lieux à visiter. Gorete a été très disponible toute la semaine aidée de son amie Alicia. Cela a été très appréciable. Nous avons vraiment passé un très bon séjour. The owner and property manager were very conscientious and attentive. The location is a 5-minute walk to the metro (Antón Martín). The neighborhood itself is walkable to a number of other great neighborhoods and attractions. While Calle de las Huertas has a number of restaurants and clubs, the walls of the building were so think that I hardly heard any sound outside when going to sleep. My partner and I enjoyed a week at this lovely apartment in Barrio de las Letras in Madrid. Our host communicated very well with us and made the process a breeze for this VBRO first-timer. The inside has hardwood floors, is tastefully decorated, and is well-equipped with amenities. The view from the balcony is truly enchanting- and there’s even a flea market right outside your door on Saturday afternoons! The neighborhood is centrally located and the dining and entertainment options, even just in this area, are endless. You can walk to many of Madrid’s great attractions such as the Prado or Retiro. We found the neighborhood to be safe. If you are looking for a centrally located apt in Madrid where you can explore everything by foot this is it. The apt is in a lovely, secure building on a tree lined pedestrian only street with tons of cafes, shops and restaurants a stones throw away. We loved the tall ceilings and little shuttered balcony. It’s very clean, comfortable, well stocked and nicely decorated. I was a little concerned about recent reviews saying it’s noisy but it was quiet every night except for Saturday night with some rowdy partiers on the street. But even then, it wasn’t a big deal at all. Just close the windows and shutters and it helps. The apartment is nice and in a good central location. Neighborhood is lively with restaurants, shops etc. The issue we found was there’s a night club below that opens around 10pm and goes til 4am or so. It gets loud with people hanging out in front smoking, yelling, laughing etc. I had to sleep with earplugs every night which wasn’t the worst thing but not what I’m looking for on a vacation. Other than the club issue the apartment is great along with owner Greta and the ladies that work for her. ##### Gabriel H. It’s well appointed & super clean. Communication was on point and the host even provides wonderful recommendations. Literally only hiccup is that it is in the best location because it is in the middle of everything but with that came some noise issues. Really just Fri and Sat night when ppl stayed up later. My contact with Gorete was excellent and she has many useful recommendations.We were not greeted by her but by her assistant Alicia. Between the time she opened the door and left after having “explained” how things worked in the apartment was 4 minutes tops.The apartment is a suite and not a one bedroom- there are partitions separating the liviving room from the bed and the bed from the bathroom.It is relatively well-equipped and is well situated for many must see sites in Madrid.There is also a good restaurant just downstairs.The real downside of the apartment is the noise. There is a bar 2 doors away and a youth hostel a few hundred meters up the street. The partying is nightly in the street until 4 am.Gorete had told me that she had inner courtyard apartments that were quieter but darker, but we never expected that amount of noise so late into the night or early morning. ##### Teresa P. We loved that everything was within walking distance. The apartment was super cute, clean, and very comfy!Gorete was such a pleasure to work with, very accommodating, and answered all our questions.
