I did a review of this hotel -- for the hotel chain. It was/is a pleasant hotel in the heart of a small town and located 15 minutes from Devils Lake State Park. If you are not a camper, then you can stay here and still find it easy to follow the rural roads to the park, where all can enjoy the hiking trails and swim in the waters of Devils Lake. Catamarans and kayaks welcome! Hotel facilities are much more up-to-date than campsite outhouses and less smelly!!! The hotel serves a great breakfast! The hotel room was clean and up to date in terms of amenities, although I did have trouble getting my laptop/Chromebook to access their website and the hotel staff were clueless on that. The hotel itself is clean and has an indoor pool and fitness room --- neither of which I used since I went to the state park during the day. And I loved the decor of the breakfast room. Typical hotel breakfast --- selection of cereals, apples, packages of peanut butter and cream cheese spread next to a plastic case laden with donuts, rolls, thick slices of white bread....hot options were sausages, scrambled eggs, chopped up potatoes, and a case with milk, yogurt, dispensers for fruit juices, coffee, tea etc. Baraboo is a cute little town with lots of attractions (circus museum, International Crane Foundation), aside from the state park....the former is good for small children but adults will like it. There are way too many roundabouts in the layout of Baraboo's streets, so have fun!!
