They moved me due to overbooking to another Hotel the receptionist there had no idea and did get grumpy told him that's not my fault If I would have known that it only goes up and down the hill I wouldn't have moved and stayed downtown Funchal I asked at Greco twice how far it would be to walk as a local resident I guess he couldn't answer that question Next time I know and let someone else move

Pretty terrible rooms, old, gross, and the bathroom is awful. Also the worst bed i’ve ever laid on. Lots of tiny ants crawling around. Don’t stay here

Great place for a short stay. Generous room size. Pleasant and helpful staff. Location is superb, very central and walkable to places and it has supermarket next door which is very handy. Stay included breakfast with reasonable choices. Shower facilities needs maintenance as water pressure was very low, everything else is good and room had massive wardrobes and a lovely balcony.

Never again
After arrive receptionist told us, that they have overbooking and we need to stay in hotel sirius… We found it on Google maps, Greco has 4*, Sirius has 2* and it was visible. Loud, old, terrible… thanks god it was only 1 night.

I liked terrace with a view of Funchal, it’s just sad that the toilet and shower has leaked, also when checking out I heard some s*x noises in near room (lmao) but everything was good.

This property was very okay. In terms of cleanliness, our room had an abundance of ants and the bedding was stained in various places. There was no AC, which made it hot and sticky in the room. Very small/ dirty shower. Only two outlets to share between three people. On the other hand, the location was very nice, easy check in and they had an okay continental breakfast. One thing I found strange was that when you leave the hotel during the day, you have to leave your keys to the room at the front desk. Then when you go back you say your room number and show zero proof of who you are. Anyone could get into your room, and there isn't someone at the front desk 24/7 watching your room key. Overall, this property was okay, but I would not stay again.

I have never been in the worst hotel. I don’t understand how is passible that they have 4 stars shocking.Very dirty carpet with stains.Window doesn’t close I can’t sleep, you hear everything what is happening outside and inside as well.Definitely not recommended. Thank you

Dreadful hotel
The carpets were badly stained, the shower and shower curtain was in bad condition, breakfast was minimal and bland, bed in first room was in poor state. New room requested and carpet in room stained and insects on floor. Furniture on bal cony was old and worn.

Good but needs modernisation
Hotel with good location within Funchal, clean though needs a bit of modernisation, basic breakfast which is in the hotel next door and needs to have wifi in all rooms. Wifi is only available in the first floor lounge. Having said that, it is reasonably priced, well located and has friendly staff.

We booked the Residential Greco Hotel in July, and ended up in Winsor Hotel, as the first was closed, only opens in winter. Though great location, nice staff but kind of oldy style hotel.

Would not stay again despite cheap price.
It is cheap, but also run down. Dirty carpet, sheets were so so. Guy who checked us in didn’t speak English so had get help from neighbour. Location is great & central. Would not stay again.

Hotel in a good city centre location
The hotels entrance was not welcoming as it was sandwiched between a supermarket door and its delivery bay. Reception area looked decent with marble tiles on both the floor and walls. A lift was in place and stairs also had marble tiles, it was obvious it was grand at some point in its history. However, we were very disappointed as soon as we entered the room. The carpets were dirty, stained and didn't appeared to been vacuumed recently.Toilets smelt of urine, shower curtain was in a bad state and mould all over the walls. The towels were old and worn out but were plentiful.

Lovely staff, perfect location.
The hotel is basic, but three shared a 5th floor room with a balcony. There is a good supermarket below. The hotel's downside was the continental breakfast. Nice dining area, but very minimal choice. We did not expect a banquet for the amount we paid for the room but there were only rolls, cheese and ham, jam and fruit juice. Just fruit or yogurt or cereal would have made a difference.

Great location, friendly staff
The location was perfect, just 2 minutes away from the centre and close for the market and marina. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was fine though could be a little noisy in the mornings as it was street facing and the Madeirans are very noisy. Breakfast was fine, the passionfruit juice always good. There was a lot to see in Madeira and funtoursmadeira.com have cheap tours with knowlegeable guides. The trip on the Ventura to the Islas Desertas was worth doing, even if you didn't get to walk very far on the islands, as the staff were qualified and knowledgeable and we had up to 10 dolphins bow riding. Monte Palace Gardens are fantastic, though the exotic bird collection at the Botannical Gardens was great. Food and drink were amazing and not expensive to eat out. I booked my own tours, but the staff at the hotel are happy to do it for you.

WiFi works only on the first floor with a weak signal and there are no rooms on the first floor. There are no ceiling fans in the room as mentioned in the amenities. The receptionist (from the evening shift) wasn't that kind to discuss and he could not speak English. We were provided with used bedsheets and blankets. The bathing towels weren't in good condition. Breakfast was really good. But still it is not recommended to stay in this hotel.

Pro: comodità di essere in centro abbastanza vicino alle principali fermate dei mezzi pubblici e della navette per l'aeroporto Contro: rumorosita sia proveniente da altre camere che dalla strada pur essendo alloggiato al quarto piano la finestra non teneva fuori i rumori Quando sono arrivato dopo il check-in , non so per quale ragione , mi hanno fatto salire a piedi (al 4°piano) pur essendoci l'ascensore

El alojamiento más barato y se nota
Los trabajadores son todos amables, pero el hotel en sí se quedó en los años 60. Han renovado el suelo de las habitaciones, pero a la cama se le notaban todos los muelles, las almohadas eran pequeñas y de pedazos de espuma, un auténtico horror. El secador ni funcionaba, solo un enchufe al lado de la cama, las ventanas de aluminio ni cerraban por lo que se escuchaba todo el ruido de la calle, bastante transitada. El desayuno continental normal, no estaba mal. El parking es en un hotel cercano pagando 5 euros al día. En general, si es solo para dormir cerca del centro y no te importa mucho la comodidad, entonces este es tu hotel.

Não voltarei a ficar neste hotel.
Não gostei, a colcha da cama estava suja, o chuveiro deitava pouquíssima água e sem pressão. O colchão era desconfortável e para não falar das almofadas que não eram uniformes e cheiravam mal.
