The property was conveniently located and was value for money however expected the cleanliness to be a little bit better. The floor was quite dirty as identified by our toddler playing and our feet after only a short period of time. There was also multiple tiny ants roaming the entire unit which meant we had to store most of our food in the fridge. There was also no ironing board, no drying rack to dry the kitchenware as required. Our bins only had one liner which quickly filled when holidaying with a toddler and only one small sachet of dishwashing liquid. Otherwise minimal issues during our 3 night stay.

The Receptionist Leeanne was extremely friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble..We will make the Windmill our preferred accommodation venue whilst in Ma kay in future...

Very clean. It was very quiet even though it was next to the highway. Unfortunately, the highway created a problem with access.

A Very Worthy Accomodation Option
I arrived to find a well-sized room for the price I had paid. The room had well-kept facilities, with only a couple of minor cosmetic blemishes, but I put that down to it being a well-used venue. The staff were all pleasant and the manager was very helpful when I needed it. I was staying at this venue for a wedding and my overall experience was very positive.

This was a wonderful surprise after some lesser recent experiences. We entered a cool, fragrant welcoming room, with a small vase of fresh garden flowers! Who could want for more after a day on the bumpy Bruce Track! The reception staff were very welcoming, the room and especially the bed was fantastic. Dining in the restaurant was so convenient and reviving an easy option. The staff were very friendly and engaged with travellers. Altogether a great experience, and a definite spot in Mackay.

Terrible experience for a business traveler and will never stay here again. Something as simple as a Tax Invoice and compounded further by the complete lack of service on check in. If you don’t like Expedia bookings, don’t list your rooms there.

The location is great with a fabulous walk at the back which is welcome after a long drive. The room is modern, very clean. Flowers on the table. The bed is big, comfortable and the bedding is spotlessly clean. Plenty of towels, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Parking is at the door. It was very quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my meal in the restaurant. There’s a petrol station near the exit. Location is excellent for getting on/off the highway into the property easily and quickly. Nothing to dislike.

I liked the restaurant. Linen was clean. I didn’t like our room because the bathroom door won’t shut, ants throughout, had to ask for a hair dryer and walls/ fans dusty & cobwebs. Window shutters broken, no tv in bedroom. No phone to call reception. No sign to direct people to reception so initially we didn’t know where to check in.
