![Sint-Servaasbasiliek is a church building in the historic center of Maastricht, located between three squares: Vrijthof, Emperor Charles Square and Henric van Veldekeplein. The church is believed to be built on the grave of Saint Servaas and is considered to be the oldest still existing church in the Netherlands. The large, three-legged crucifix is largely built in Romanesque style using coal sandstone and marl. The church building functions as a parish church of the Roman Catholic Saint Servaas parish and is also the dekenate church of Maastricht. Since 1985, the church has been renamed the basilica minor (basilica). The basilica is a national monument and belongs to the "Top 100 of the National Service for the Monument Care" of 1990. The church, monasteries and treasures are open daily for public and paid for viewing.
