Does the job on the tin.

Having got to a European Cup semi-final I was very surprised to see a room still available within Lyon for €180. Still a reasonable amount to pay considering the volume of people in the city for the football and it was exactly as I expected when the standard rate is €39. Very basic hotel but felt It felt like the Four Seasons when crashing into bed at 3am.
Be warned that if you attempt to walk there, you may indeed enter via a ghetto or two. All entrance gates were locked by the time I arrived and I only managed to gain access when a fellow guest arrived with a key code. Resigned to sleeping on the tiled reception floor, a lady appeared in her dressing gown and did the check in. A godsend. Was offered breakfast on arrival and check out the following morning which was far easier.
The hammered hairy, tattooed, skinny Portugese fan trying to pick up invisible money off the floor in front of the vending machine was hilarious and quite a treat. He even made my mate Ebo look sober.
