It's rumored that Thomas Jefferson even stayed here. Loaded with the beautiful, historic charm of brick walls, high ceilings, and hardwood floors, this space has all the new modern amenities you desire. Located on the corner of 12th and Main Street across from the community market, it is in the center of everything downtown with river views and steps away from dining, shopping and walking trails. This historic loft used to be home to “Cross Keys Tavern." The building was originally constructed in 1804, with additions made in 1890, as a restaurant with lodging. It had been scheduled to be torn down in the 1960's, but was saved as it is one of the oldest and most historic buildings in Downtown Lynchburg. The building was again slated for demolition in the early 1990s when current owners bought and historically renovated it. Only registered guests are allowed at the property! This open concept, second floor historic space includes a comfortable living area with a sleeper sofa, recliner and accent chair, large screen TV w/ Roku, and lots of natural light. The newly renovated kitchen includes a full size refrigerator, oven, stove, sink, microwave and dishwasher. It's stocked with everything needed to cook meals or store leftovers. Tucked away in a closet just off the kitchen is the laundry room. Sitting in front of beautiful historic brick on the back wall of the loft is the luxurious queen bed with layers and layers of bedding you can get lost in. Next to the bed is a sound machine for our light sleepers. And just a few steps away from the bed is the private full bathroom which includes a wide garden tub with a shower, toilet, vanity w/ sink, and all the amenities a tired traveler might need. Central heat and air keep the loft cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Towels and sheets are provided. Potential of noise specially on weekend, we have a bar a cross the street. We are in downtown that is not quiet. We have construction at Main st and Twelfth Street intersection for approximately six weeks to install the Arrival Pad. One dog are welcome for non-refundable pet fee. Throughout your stay maintain cleanliness of our home inside and out with regards to your pet’s activities. Please, no paws on the furniture and bed spreads and do not use the bath linens to clean your furry friends. They may not be left unattended in the house unless they are crated. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog when you make your reservation. Séjour de 4 nuits en février 2022 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### SCOTT B. 31 janv. 2022 Points forts : Propreté #### Great Spot within walking distance of everything in Downtown Lynchburg A cozy spot with good character for a weekend get away. The place is laid out as a Studio apartment, but is so big it's not like the usual studio apartment. This place has to over 1,000 sq ft. We loved the very large Kitchen island, which helped us lay out paperwork, laptops, and food as we did some family financial planning. The bed is tucked away from the main area and was comfy, but do wish it had been a king size. The steps leading up the side of the building are so cool, definitely a style that you probably can't build anymore due to building codes, but was very neat. The side door was a bit finicky trying to use the code to unlock, but eventually we got it to work. They also have another exterior staircase around back if the side one scares you. The place hit all the expectations we were hoping for. We would stay here again if the opportunity presents itself. ##### SCOTT B. This place was a beautifully restored and decorated space, super clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We were able to walk to restaurants downtown. There were many to choose from. We were very pleased and would recommend it for your stay. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone who has trouble getting up and down stairs. There are a lot of stairs to maneuver getting to and from the space. ##### Terri B. The listing was as advertised. During road construction the parking access is a little difficult and there are stairs involved to get inside. But the location couldn’t be beat. Was able to see the farmers market from the window and was perfect for a weekend downtown. The hostess was incredibly helpful and gracious, would stay at one of her places again in a heartbeat. One of the best renting experiences I’ve had and was all super easy. The only issue was that you can’t make a lot of noise without disturbing the neighbors, but for a low key stay it’s perfect ##### Virginia C. The Loft is positioned in the heart of downtown, will Excellent restaurants in walking distance. The Loft is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, the owner spared no expense with the remodeling. There are 2 entrances (I would recommend using the back, as the side stairs are narrow), and the Loft will easily accommodate 4 adults. If you are in the Area, you definitely want to stay here, u will not be disappointed. ##### David M. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and was in a great location! We were able to walk to shops and restaurants as well as to the local hike and bike trail. Loft was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. There is quite a bit of street construction outside of unit making it a little tricky to access parking. We would definitely stay again ##### Terri K.
