Comprised of a 2 bedroom main cabin and 1 bedroom guest cabin, this property was completely renovated in 2021\. And while it has all the amenities you'd expect from a new project, the renovation stayed true to classic Minnesota cabin architecture and will take you back in time. The 2 bedroom main cabin has a wonderful open floor plan that features a combined gathering room/kitchen area with a wood-burning fieldstone fireplace for those often chilly nights (fire wood included of course!!). It features classic Minnesota aged pine walls and ceilings, painted hardwood floors, a lakeside master bedroom with a queen sized bed and a guest bedroom with a queen bed and single built-in bed nook. The bathroom is also newly remodeled with new cabinetry, stone countertops, fixtures, and a tile shower. The main gathering area features a built-in game/puzzle table, a wood burning fieldstone fireplace, along with rustic, yet comfortable, furniture and sitting areas for a rainy day or movie night! The kitchen is well equipped for the chef of the family with new appliances, high end dishware, small appliances, and cutlery. But the highlight of the cabin is picturesque Lake Superior, which is located only 30’ lakeward from the cabin. The gradual elevation to the lake allows for fun exploration along the rocky shoreline, and includes a lakeside firepit and an expansive lakeside deck for morning coffee or outside dining. The guest cabin is equally quaint, also newly remodeled, and furnished “to the nines”. In addition to the queen bed, there is a daybed (single) with a trundle underneath (also single) to accommodate 4 guests in the guest cottage. Other features include a Jotul gas fireplace, a small “coffee bar”, a small table for cards, breakfast, or coffee, and a newly renovated bathroom with new cabinetry, stone countertops, fixtures, and a tile shower. For those that need to stay connected, Lorelei also includes lightning fast High Speed Wi-Fi throughout the structures and a high definition Smart TV in the main cabin for streaming shows and movies. This property is perfect for a family, an extended family, or a couple families; we have a strict limit of 9 occupants. There are 3 Queen beds (1 per bedroom) and 3 single beds. We do keep our calendar updated at all times and so if you are seeing availability then it’s likely available. Upon reservation confirmation you'll receive a complete 'what to bring' list in advance so you are prepared for your time up north. And feel free to inquire with any questions you may have and we’ll be prompt to reply! We pride ourselves on keeping our property and structures/equipment pristine and are certain we'll exceed your expectations in that regard. Lorelei is perfectly located northeast of the town of Lutsen about 3 miles, and southwest of Grand Marais by 14 miles. For those planning to ski, the Gondola at Lutsen Mountain is 6 miles away. For those looking to snowmobile, you can jump on the main trail less than 1 mile from the cabin. And for the hikers there are literally dozens of world class hiking trails located with 10 miles. And for the wanderers in the group the towns of Grand Marais, Lutsen, Tofte, and Schroeder are filled with fun shops and galleries to explore. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and soaking up the autumn sun while gazing at the lake and relaxing. Having all the firewood we needed was so wonderful. This property is centrally located to everything we needed included hiking and riding trails. We will definitely be back to stay again! The hosts provided easy communication, a welcome feel, and were very accommodating. The place itself is complete with every coze decor and every appliance/accommodation you could think of for a comfortable stay (including a grill, KitchenAid, and popcorn popper!). A short drive from Lutsen mountain, we spent our sunny day exploring the beautiful foliage. The other two days of our trip rained nonstop, but since the cabin was so comfortable and cozy with a spectacular view right on the water, we didn't feel like we were missing out at all! We just opened the windows to hear the loud, crashing waves outside and played many of the available boardgames by the indoor fire. Thank you for a wonderful stay! ##### Olga L. Views are wonderful. Cabin and guest house are decorated perfectly for a North Shore home. We loved the stone fireplace (a woodshed is located right by the house. We split wood there and had a fire going all day!). Kitchen is nicely equipped with charming cabinets and hardware. New countertops and appliances. There is no separate dining room. Rather seating is at the kitchen island (counter. height). Seats 6\. Bathrooms feel new and fresh. Loved the lake facing bedroom. So picturesque. Highly recommend this property. ##### Brad O. The proximity to the water was my favorite part. We had kids ages 6,7,8,9 playing on the rocks and small island just down the shore for hours. There is a swimming hole right off the island that was great for the kids. The features of the cabin made our stay feel so very rustic and coxy. If I were to have anything to change for the next stay would be to ask that they mow the grass before the next guests arrive. There were weeds coming through the stairs and the grass was needing attention. Again, that would be the ONLY thing I would address needing attention. I would absolutely stay here again and hope to do so soon! Oh, and there was unlimited firewood which was an absolute plus. ##### Adrian D. The views are amazing -10 feet from the water. The cabin furniture is great and well thought out. The beds are very comfortable. The cabin is stocked with everything you need. Getting to Grand Marais was also a breeze. We lucked out and experienced the Harvest Moon rising over the lake! The property managers were easy to contact but we didn’t run into any problems. The second guest house was beautiful. No lake views as it is set behind the main cabin. This didn’t matter as we congregated on the deck for coffee each morning and enjoyed outdoor fires until we tucked in for the night. Great home! Thanks for sharing with us! ##### Sharalyn W.
