This is a great place for the outdoor enthusiast with beautiful views the George Washington National Forest. This location is perfect for hiking, kayaking, fishing with a public boat ramp near by. Multiple bedrooms and lots of beds a. Huge master bedroom with riverfront view, large bathrooms, dressers, a large living/sitting area, TV, large full kitchen, pantry and laundry room. Enjoy beakfast on us your first morning! WE NOW HAVE AC! Pictures don't do it justice! The space The exterior has security cameras. The bottom floor has a full kitchen, coffee bar, dining room, living room, TV, internet, leather sofa and recliner, large bathroom, large master bedroom with King bed and a pull out futon. There are fireplaces but they are not available to be used. There is a lot of room in this house. Please tell us how many people you have, so that bed can be made appropriately. There is a master bedroom downstairs, a futon, a sofa and a recliner. Upstairs there is a king a 2 queens and a double , 2 twins, a toddler bed and 6 futons and a full Bathroom. Guest access Guests will have acess to the home as well as all outdoor areas. Please make sure to understand, there are lots of sharing space in this house. We set bedding for amount of people. Not individual bedrooms. Other things to note We are open to you bringing your pets but please let us know in advanced what your needs may be. It was off the beaten path but within 10 min to everything you could want. Home is so spacious and the owner was amazing to work with! She even left breakfast goodies. There are little bars but remember, you’re on the river so it’s expected and they communicated that. We stayed here 2 nights we kayaked and floated the river every day. It’s very convenient area for a nice float. Some of us fished. Fishing was great! 7 of us stayed in the house. We were very comfortable. Some rooms you have to walk through to get to others. We loved it! We took our side by sides so we could pull our kayaks back to the house. The house has a kitchen fully equipped, and supply’s coffee. We had eggs and bacon in the fridge as well. There is also a gas grill! Check in and out was great! It worked very well, and everyone had a great time. Very nice location on the river. Just be aware that’s it’s next to a pasture on the river, so there are lots of bugs. Don’t leave the doors open. The old farm house has lots of character and tons of space relative to our DC row house. The views of the river are beautiful from the covered porches. The kids (5 and 8) never seemed to get bored playing in the small stream that flows down one side of the property. It provided hours of largely supervision-free entertainment for them. There is easy access to the river. Downtown Luray, the caverns, restaurants, grocery stores are all a short drive (\~10 mins) away, but on the farm, you feel completely secluded from the outside world. It's just you and the cows. Sharon was incredibly responsive and very easy to work with. Our only hesitation about recommending this house is that it might make it more difficult for us to rent in the future. ##### David C. One thing to note is that the host charges $50 extra per night per person, which is not disclosed on the listing. So if you are looking to add additional people beyond your reservation, keep that in mind. The house is definitely laid out for a farm family and would be easier with a family group rather than a mixed one. It has 5 bedrooms on the second floor, which are connected to each other and share the same bathroom. One set of bedrooms (queen and double) don't have a door between them and the other set (king, queen, and twins) have only one door to the main hallway and means that anyone staying in the queen or twins has to come through the king to use the bathroom in the hall. Overall, the quality of the house is adequate and the first floor is more spaciously laid out. Water is sulfuric. If you run it for a bit, as host suggests in notes, it tastes fine. All of us felt the house smelled like eggs though. Candles helped. Two who took showers said it never really got hot. Also, it didn’t seem clear in photos that my adult son’s bedroom and mine would have no door between. I asked for 3 rooms and got them, but the room with the pillow saying “love you to the moon and back” is a walk through the room with the blue and pink quilt. Amenities are basic. Would not recommend for the posted occupancy of 22\. The TV room seats 7, for perspective. The single most needed improvement are blinds or curtains for all windows in the bedrooms. The windows are large and beautiful, but most people will not want to change clothes in the 1st floor bedroom when they could be seen from the side porch. We did have a good time. ##### Becky I.
