Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Peaceful cabin with over 1,400 sqft of living space. It has a large private lot giving you privacy but still close enough to the wonderful quaint town of Luray (only 12 minutes away). You can enjoy a quiet bath in the jacuzzi tub upstairs or relax in the 50 jet 6 person hot tub under the gazebo out doors. For the cool evenings, enjoy the gas fireplace inside or build your own firepit under the stars. The cabin is located in the valley where wifi can be spotty. The location is truly beautiful, with peaceful surroundings, gorgeous views, and excellent access to the river. It’s a great spot for relaxing and enjoying nature.The home itself was very clean, which we appreciated. However, it was not as well-maintained as we expected. The hot tub was far too hot, and there was no way to adjust the temperature. We also encountered a number of wasps on the deck, which made spending time outside a bit uncomfortable.With some attention to maintenance, this property has a lot of potential. The Pros……easy river access, nice views out of the big windows…easy commute to the town ofLuray…pet friendly…ac was nice and cool…The Cons……the beds weren’t terrible but also weren’t comfy (very firm and squeaky), only the bare necessities so bring your tin foil and anything basic that most rentals usually provide, noCharcoal or lighter fluid provided for the grill (we had to go back out and buy some)…the coffeepot took 45 minutes or more to perk a pot of coffee…no extra blankets or throws to keep comfy…the couches seemed worn and the towels and pillow cases…I found a candy wrapper when I pulled the bedspread back(were they not stripped and cleaned?!) so I slept on top of the bedspread with the blanket I keep in my car…We almost ran out of toilet paper (we used it sparingly) and there were only enough bath towels per person…no extra towels to wrap your hair up.The hot tub was 108 degrees and unbearable. The property description says a canoe and life jackets are provided. We didn’t see them anywhere. The bedrooms could use ceiling fans, it got a little stuffy but it was also very hot outside during our stay. The deck was great but no cushions on the metal chairs. There is a massive wasp nest under the house and owners simply said to keep doors closed. They provide 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll paper towel, and only 1 bathroom had hand soap. House water turned brown on our last 2 days. Beds and couches are uncomfortable and there are no extra linens. Upstairs faucet handles come off. Hot tub is limited to 100\. River was perfect for wading, floating, and fishing. Kitchen was fairly well stocked. Our biggest disappointment was the hot tub. It had an extremely high level of chemicals in that we were unable to use it due to the strong fumes. We even tried removing the cover for an hour or so before we were going to get in but that didn’t help, either. That being said, we would still recommend this rental and will likely rent again. ##### Kelly B. It was great to have access to the river and a sizable yard. The location was quiet but not too far from Luray caverns and skyline drive. The kids enjoyed playing in the river and finding crayfish. Was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Mostly great things to say about it. Only negatives would be the upstairs bedroom loft mattress is VERY hard so I slept downstairs which was awesome.
