They were very nice at check in. I had to stay in the city to see my Dr early the next morning. The hotel is no-nonsense. Nothing special but they are nice. The rooms are clean and newly refurbished. The views from the terrace are lovely. Dining options and shopping are moments away. If I needed to stay in Lugo again I would consider this hotel. I slept very well.

Regular visitors to Lugo
We have stayed here several times and there is a great variation in rooms. Some are very basic and minimal while some are very good with balconies etc. Luck of the draw as price does not appear to be a factor. On this visit we had one of the more basic rooms with a view of a wall whilst our friends had a lovely room with a balcony

Be sure not to get stuck with a room Overlooking a dirty stairwell/under the dining room. Couldn’t open the window or curtains. Lots of hot water and friendly /helpful staff

The room was large, clean and spacious with two balconies. We took the chairs outside to have a drink and watch all the activity below. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good the coffee the best we had while in Spain. Great location for walking to the wall and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Lugo.

Excellent Stay
The Hotel is clean, our room was recently upgraded, great shower. Property is in an excellent location next to the Plaza Mayor. There is plenty of shopping and places to eat and drink. The Cathedral is only a couple of blocks away. Great area, great walled city.

We were created by friendly staff. I love Lugo. This hotel is in a great location and the view from our room was nice. The terrace is beautiful, with a restaurant. I did not want to leave.

Great location is the big positive to the hotel but its now looking very tired and old fashioned. Really bad bit was the bed creaked and we could not stop it so not the best nights sleep.

The hotel was perfectly located in the center of Old Town. The reception staff was extremely helpful. There was a refrigerator in the room. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a comfortable, no frills hotel that is located in the heart of a pedestrian precinct. The room was sufficiently spacious as was the bathroom. Access via car was a tad tricky but the hotel approved parking was only several minutes walk away. The hotel is only 50 m from a large public open space that featured a number of restaurants. All in all, a pleasant, inexpensive venue for our overnight stay.

We loved our room. It had two balconies, a sitting area and two bathrooms. The location was great too. The staff at the front desk were also very helpful suggesting dinner options. Parking was a little ways away so that wasn't ideal but it wasn't far. We enjoyed our stay.

Best located hotel in the city
We arrived in the middle of the annual Roman/goth festival. The hotel is in the center of the old city and the location could not be better. Only stayed one night but it was a memorable one

There was a mistake with the check in date, instead of May 13-15, they had the registration for April & wouldn’t honor what we had paid . They made us pay for our stay all over Very disappointing, wouldn’t stay there again if they paid us.

The staff at this hotel were extremely helpful and friendly. However, we thought it looked as though it had had a rather cheap upgrade and that it was expensive for the facilities available. There is no parking at the hotel but they can give discount vouchers for a public car park which is about 5-10 minutes' walk away. The town of Lugo is lovely, and so is the surrounding countryside.

Not a 4* hotel
Impossible to understand why do they have 4 stars...the bed wasn’t confortable at all, at the bath there wasn’t amenities, just a soap for head and body. The breakfast really bad (attending that its a 4* hotel).

I believe it's the best option in the city
The hotel is fine, the rooms and furniture are partially renovated, staff is nice as well and it's located meters from the main square. It also has nice views from the balcony and last floor restaurant.

The room was too hot to sleep. When we asked about the air con we were told it was set to heat only. No fan available so we had to buy one. Getting to the hotel by car is difficult. It's in a pedestrian precinct.

Now I know what four stars means!!!
Our first time in a four star hotel! We didn't know what exactly makes for a four star hotel. Was it the scuffed hallways? Or the stained carpet? Maybe the traditional habit of failing to have proper double beds? Perhaps it was the view of the iron stairwell framed by a brick wall that was delightfully visited by authentic Galician hotel workers on their cigarette breaks. My guess was the graceful shrug of the shoulders of the desk girl when informed that our room had no air conditioning. Practiced, graceful and effortless, the hallmark of a true four star hotel, the hallmark of Mendez Nunez! Practically, location was good and so was the breakfast. But bite, kick, scream if they try and put you in the rooms ending 15 or 17. Test the a/c right away and demand a change of room if it doesn't work, for they are preying upon your politeness to shaft you with a substandard room.

Nice hotel in center of town. Service was excellent but unfortunately our AC didn't work and there was no one on duty to fix it. So, it was warm and a bit loud in the room with the balcony door open. Breakfast was ok but not 4 star quality. There was also a hole in the bathroom towel.

good hotel
hotel was fine - breakfast menu a little limited and sometimes slow service - they were rushed with a large group coming to breakfast close together - should have known and had more staff. Good neighborhood, close to everything. Car parking was close by.
