The Villa rental is positioned in the countryside around Lucca, on a beautiful hillside dominating ancient vineyards and olive groves, in an area where once all the noble families built their summer estates to escape the heat and show off their wealth. The villa is set in 6 acres and sleeps up to 12/14 people. It has been recently renovated in order to bring together modern comforts with the original architectural features and antique furnishings. It is fully furnished and surrounded by a private, Italian garden. Villa Pedone also offers a private swimming-pool, directly accessible from the house. By renting this villa one can enjoy the beauties of all the treasures offered by the Tuscan Region. Lucca is in an ideal location, its geographical position and features offer both mountains and beach resorts in accessible distances. By choosing this type of accommodation you will be able to enjoy, discover and become part of the 'real Tuscan lifestyle'. Villa Pedone is situated on a quiet and secluded hillside, surrounded by breathtaking views of olive groves and vineyards. Although you will feel far away from the city, Lucca is only 10 minutes away by car. It is an ideal location, as you will see on the map, the city of Lucca is positioned centrally in the Tuscan region. It is aprox. only 15 km from the sea side and 10km from the mountains. It is surrounded by all the main cities of Tuscany, which are easily reachable also by train or bus. The property is in San Concordio di Moriano, a small village in the countryside, 7km from Lucca city center. The villa is surrounded by ancient olive groves and vineyards. It is also an historic area where once all the noble families built their summer estates to escape the heat and show off their wealth. Although it might seem like an isolated area, the village center is only 2km away, where it is possible to find a minimarket and a supermarket at 3km. Distances:Nearest village for shopping is 3 km (grocery shop - post office - pharmacy). Very good trattorie and restaurants close by. Lucca and nearest highway connection 6/7 km; Pisa airport 30 km; Florence and Florence airport 70 km; Chianti area: one and half hour; Siena: two hours; Puccini Opera Festival in Torre del Lago on Puccini Lake: 30 minutes. Duccio was a great host, very informative, responsive and helpful. The house is in a beautiful setting with great views at every turn a truly beautiful place to stay with tonnes of history & character. We had access to the pool which was essential for our stay in July. My only suggestion is that you bring bug repellent when staying during the hot months. I would highly recommend staying at Villa Pedone for private parties or family holidays. You will love it. We had the most wonderful stay in Villa Pedone! Altho the weather was very hot, we always managed to find some pleasant shade and a bit of breeze. And the pool was very refreshing. The house is beautiful and has a wonderful aspect with views all around. There are also plenty of spaces for everyone to find a little peace, a place for a companionable chat or for the teens to make a joyful noise without disturbing anyone. I must say that AnnaMaria, the caretaker, was amazing. She stocked the house with food, at our request. She also made us 3 delicious dinners which we ate at the big table on the terrace by the pool. Nothing was too much trouble for her - she was a gem. We enjoyed a magical week in Villa Pedone - I hope everyone who visits there will share our experience. Aug 18, 2012 #### Review for stay from 18 August 2012 to 25 August 2012 We were 4 families of 8 adults and 7 teens on a week holiday. We had the most wonderful stay in Villa Pedone! Altho the weather was very hot, we always managed to find some pleasant shade and a bit of breeze. And the pool was very refreshing. The house is beautiful and has a wonderful aspect with views all around. There are also plenty of spaces for everyone to find a little peace, a place for a companionable chat or for the teens to make a joyful noise without disturbing anyone.
