La Colonna in Lucca - fantastic place!
Our family stayed at La Colonna for 4 days. It was a nice, clean, quiet place to stay and cleanliness is very important to me. Check-in was easy and the host was friendly and gave us great advice on a nearby laundromat and a small cafe. A great place to stay inside the walls of Lucca. Convenient to anyplace you would want to go - restaurants, shopping, sites. We made day trips to Pisa and Sienna and drove around Tuscany. Would definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful place to stay within the walls of Lucca.
Great location within the walls of Lucca. Easy to find from the train station. Very hospitable. Easy self check-in, coffee and tea provided. Small bathroom but not unusual for lodging in old buildings. Luggage storage available.

Great stay.....
Fantastic B&B, close to station and inside the walls of Lucca. Was a comfort to come home to every day after our extensive sight seeing every day not to mention everything inside Lucca itself. Highly recommend.

a beautiful little boutique hotel near the guinigi tower in the heart of lucca, which is already very walkable. mirko is a gracious, helpful and kind host. the rooms are nicely decorated and the bed is made daily which we didn’t expect but was a nice surprise! very comfortable and a GREAT value.

Great break
The hotel was small, room only. The room was very comfortable and the Mirko at reception was so helpful. Tea and coffee available 24 hours. Everything within the walls of Lucca was less than 15 minutes.

Great place to stay
Marko a great host. Gave excellent tourism advice regarding sites to visit, restautants and other areas. Great cafe/bar PIQI nearby for breakfast or relaxing drink at end of day

Good stay overall, could have been better
Good stay overall, cosy little room on ground floor for this B&B conveniently located within the old city walls. We were a bit dissapointed by two things: 1. breakfast was not included in a Bead & BREAKFAST; 2. we had to wait at the door on the day of our our arrival. I assume low winter season is the reason but still.. Again, the stay was still pleasant but there is room for improvement.

Not impressed, skip this one.
For the life of me I can't understand the high points for this B&B. It's location is good, it's on the first floor and the beds & pillows were comfortable. That's the good news. The room has black mold on the wall by the bunk bed. we didn't take a shower because the 'towels' were dish cloths. The heater was extremely loud, clunky sounding that then clicked when it cooled down. We saw the owner upon arrival and never again. We asked him to plug in the frig. There was a coffee maker but we couldn't figure out how to use it and he didn't explain it. there was NO breakfast, NO coffee. I understand that we came in November and no one else was there or was scheduled all week. But if he wanted to shut it down or give us a place without the full ammeneties, he should have offered us a discounted rate. We stayed in 4 places in Tuscany and this was the 'only fail'.

AMAZING Experience in Lucca at the B&B La Colonna!
The B&B was central to everything...it was so easy to walk there from and to the train station, as well as late at night. Mirko is the best host I have ever had. He gave us so many suggestions of things to do, local things to eat and where to eat. All his suggestions were spot-on... I truly believe that without Mirko, we wouldn't have had as great of a time in Lucca. Also, his breakfast was the best I had during my whole 17 day trip through Italy. Everything was fresh from a nearby bakery. The rooms are big enough, the beds are super comfortable, and every room has its own bathroom. There are also 5 rooms in the B&B which means that it's actually really quaint and quiet and allows for a more personal experience in the B&B since Mirko takes the time to get to know you. I loved Lucca and B&B La Colonna... I can't wait to go back!

Excellent stay! Great service, great location! The owner of B&B is an amazing guy who is full of very helpful tips and suggestions for any new commers. I would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat. The only small downside is the absence of AC...if you can't bare with the heat of Italian summer you should consider staying somewhere else, otherwise HIGHLY recommended!

This was the best stay we have had in Italy - incredibly helpful and friendly host - delicious breakfast: with buttery croissants fresh coffees and creamy cheeses and fresh meats - softest pillows ! I would recommend anyone visiting Lucca to stay here!

Great service, great location!
We had a great time at La colonna. The owner, Mirko, is super nice and even if we had to leave earlier than breakfast, he told us we could look for something to eat in the fridge. Also, he uses whatsapp to be able to communicate with client at all times and vice versa. Perfectly located just off the main road and 10 minutes walk from the train station. Really had a blast!

The room was clean and comfortable. It was noisy during the day as there was a window looking on a busy alley, but at night it was quiet. The continental breakfast was good and included fresh baked goods and good coffee. The owner was friendly and helpful. The front desk is only manned for a few hours a day, so you may need to make special arrangements to get your room key, depending on your arrival time.

Excellent location, Easy Walking
Lucca is an excellent location to take a break from sightseeing. LaColonna BnB is the best place to stay to relax. Easy taxi ride from train station (you can walk 15 minutes with bags, but not so easy). Our room was on main floor &nice breakfast. Mirko, who speaks excellent English, greeted us at check in. He gave us a map and pointed out all the highlights and good restaurants. LaColonna BnB is close to every thing because Lucca is very small. Easy to take a day trip to Pisa via train or bus. Easy to take the train from Lucca to Siena (via chg at Pisa & Empoli). We enjoyed our stay and would go back. We have travelled a lot to many countries; we give this place a good rating.

We really enjoyed our stay in Lucca at the b&b. Mirko is a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome. The room was nice and the free breakfast was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend.

The room was decorated beautifully and service from Mirko was excellent! We arrived late and sent an email to Mirko before arriving and everything worked great with the hidden key. We loved the tips that Mirko provided us during our stay as well. :)

Nice room in the centre of the city
Stay here with family for a couple of nights while in Lucca and was a very convenient place to stay. Room was slightly dated and a bit damp feeling but the service and location was perfect! Very easy to get to everything was a good place for everyone.

Great location. The owner was very nice and helpful. The only minor drawback was the private bathroom separate from the room down the hallway but I think only one room is like that. We would definitely stay here again. Be sure to ask Mirko for all his tips on what to see and where to eat.

Perfect B&B for couples
A wonderful little B&B with only five rooms which makes the service very friendly and personal. The rooms are really modern, individually decorated and very clean and well presented. The lovely host is very helpful with excellent suggestions for places to visit and the best restaurants and pizzerias to eat at. One of the best places I have ever stayed on holiday!

Lovely B & B with large, comfortable rooms, within the old walled city. Nothing is too much trouble for the host, who is very flexible and helpful. He has excellent advice on restaurants and bars which the locals prefer. I recommend La Colonna to everyone. They have one room which sleeps four, and also have 2 connecting rooms, if you have a larger group, or children. Nice breakfast of pastries and excellent coffee.

静かな町中にあるホテル
学会参加のために連泊しましたが、不満は一切ありませんでした。 きれいで広めの部屋で、アロマも設置してあるこじゃれた部屋でした。エアコンはありませんでしたが、天井のファンで全く不便しませんでした。 共用スペースにはエスプレッソマシンやハーブティーが用意されていて自由に飲むこともできてよかったです。 一番奥の部屋でもwifiは利用可能でした。速度もまずまずだったと思います。 注意点としては、基本的に午前中しか係員がいない為、セルフチェックインになる点が挙げられます。チェックイン前にホテルに連絡することが重要です。

Non è corretto definire questo come b&b in quanto ha un corridoio con 5 camere al piano terra, senza locali per soggiorno o colazione e senza finestre. La colazione viene servita solo in estate ma al momento della prenotazione era indicata come fornita, il che è fondamentale visto che questa è una info che si vuole avere prima di prenotare e non dopo. Il punto forte del posto sono la posizione centrale e disponibilita e gentilezza del gestore ma i locali sono vecchiotti e non rimodernati da molto tempo. Molte cose andrebbero sistemate per esempio i bagni il riscaldamento e la caldaia rumorosa. Nonché il forte odore di muffa e umidità del posto. Il locale è angusto buio e con aria pesante non essendoci finestre, camera 5 meglio ma cmq vecchiotta. Prezzo è meglio di altri ma considerando il basso standard e del posto e mancanza di prima colazione lo rende non poi così economico per Lucca in dicembre. Consigliato per una brevissima sosta se si vuole un letto per dormire a due passi da quello che c'è da vedere a Lucca. Altrimenti da evitare. Cmq Grazie al proprietario per la disponibilità ma raccomando caldamente un ristrutturazione totale del posto.

mi spiace contraddirla... ma nella vostra prenotazione era indicato chiaramente che non c'era la colazione...ed è scritto anche sul sito. leggete meglio per favore... i tavoli all'ingresso dei quali voi parlate sono locati in una zona con una finestra direi enorme... il locale è stato ristrutturato completamente 2 anni fà... ma siete sicuri di aver soggiornato da me????

Middenin Lucca
Kleine B&B middenin het historische centrum van Lucca. Onze kamer (beneden) was wat donker maar schoon en groot. Het stapelbed viel in de smaak bij onze dochter. Bij aankomst bleek dat de eigenaar niet standaard aanwezig is voor het inchecken. Later zag ik dat hij had gemaild met het verzoek door te geven hoe laat we zouden aankomen. Ook bleek dat onze boeking via Hotels.com zónder ontbijt was, bij een hotel kun je dat soms aangeven maar nogal vreemd als je een B&B boekt! Mirko gaf ons echter alsnog een gratis ontbijtje. En veel tips voor Lucca en omstreken Al met al een prima verblijf.

Abbiamo soggiornato al B&B La Colonna per due notti. Devo dire che il posto è molto carino, piccolo, ma non manca niente, pulito e silenzioso. Consiglio di andare anche per la grande simpatia di Mirko (il gestore) che vi saprà dare ottime dritte sul dove andare e cosa fare! Posizione a dir poco perfetta, si arriva a tutto in 5 minuti a piedi!

Greit opphold.
Flott beliggenhet for å utforske Lucca. Rommet var rent, men luftkjøleren fungerte dårlig. Servicen var ok. Noe tungvint å komme og gå fordi det var 3 dører å låse/låse opp!
