Within walking distance is the Mekong. Hence the "Deux Rivieres" in the name. It is quite close to Sakkaline Road, the main street in this part of Luang Prabang. Close by are many grand temples and monasteries and Mount Phousi, a high point here from where one can get a bird's-eye view of Luang Prabang, the countryside, and the Mekong. The climb is invigorating and worth it - with many Buddhist shrines. The hotel is also walking distance from the Night Market, some great restaurants, many spas and the Day Market. In all, we really liked the location. The bed was hard and the walls paper-thin, so we could have slept better, though I've also had far worse.
