Olive and her staff make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. We enjoyed our stay and the Irish breakfast was delicious

This place was busy-- I can't imagine that the owner can't afford to upgrade the worn linens and towels. Traffic noise from the busy road made it difficult to fall asleep. There was a moldy smell in the kitchenette and the bathroom. Unfortunately, even though the breakfast staff were very accommodating, everything smelled as though it was wiped down and washed with sour sponges. I couldn't even drink my tea because of the smell. The breakfast could not compare in quality to other B+Bs where we stayed in rural Ireland.

Value for money but...
Picked this property partly based on the reviews on hotels.com. The property is split between houses and the welcome warm and friendly. Unfortunately the rooms are dated and tired, there is an odd smell in house 2 and the water in the taps was neither cold nor fresh smelling. Breakfast was ok but lots of others chose to have breakfast at the same time so had to wait for a table. All would have been forgiveable however this property backs on to some real " noisy neighbours" so don't expect to sleep before midnight when they turn the music off. Overall the price reflects the above and is value for what you pay.

Good B&B, but town disappointing.
Stayed here our last two nights in Ireland as it was a straight shot down the highway to Dublin airport. This was the only town we saw in 23 days that seemed depressed. The B&B was good and in a better part of town but on a busy street. We wouldn't go to that town (Drogheda) again. We had a hard time even finding an open restaurant.

We arrived late, but the Manager Olive was so nice and she ran out with pajama to arrange our room. Very nice Ireland people!!!

Too congested rooms
Rooms are too congested and nobody comes to ask if u need anything and when u ask for something, they say sorry its not our policy.I do not understand who rated it 4 star when there is no phone available in the room. Simply crap

Not at all what I expected after reading the online reviews. Hard to find the entrance driving in. Shower in our room did not work at all. Some of the electrical outlets did not work. Quality of breakfast food was not that great but our server was very nice. I would not stay here again.

Single Texas Lady
Best way to start off my history study trip. I felt at home immediately. The hosts are friendly and interesting. John was a wonderful source of historic knowledge. Olive provides an excellent breakfast in a beautiful dining room. I was able to visit all the sites I had planned without confusion and thoroughly enjoyed the town. I even made a trip to the Irish Sea. If ever I can get back to Ireland, I’ll be sure to visit John and Olive again.

Great location and great service
We had a wonderful time at this B&B. The location is perfect for visits to sites in Drogheda and the Boyne Valley. The owner is friendly and the staff is helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast was really nice too.

Windsor Lodge
This is now my 4th time at the Windsor and once again I've enjoyed my stay. Have stayed as a group of blokes, as a couple with the wife and this time we were a father and 3 sons. We were given the chalet which is next to the main house and was perfect. Olive is so friendly and makes you feel so welcome.Breakfast was great with the choice of cereals, fruit etc and then a fry. We were using it as a base for motorbike racing at the whiteriver track which isn't far away. Back in October.

We wouldn't return
We are not B&B people, and really didn't realize that this was, in fact, a B&B. That said, we expect B&B's to have welcoming hosts who go out of their way to be friendly. This was not the case, and we found the hosts to be rather stuffy and pushy. We wouldn't stay here again. The room itself was large with a private bathroom, but the bed cover was quite gross. It had numerous brown markings on the underside that would have come off in a washer had it been washed. There was also no shampoo or soap provided. Walls were very thin and we could clearly hear our neighbor's TV and people talking downstairs. I had to take a Benedryl in order to sleep. The real kicker was that we discovered that we could have stayed in a castle (which would have also included breakfast) for cheaper. Stayed March 2014, traveled as a couple

Our hosts John and Olive were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. The breakfasts were wonderful and perfectly prepared to our instruction. As golfers it is a ideal location to use as a base to play the great courses in the area Baltray (county Louth), Royal County Down, Portmarnock, and the K Club. We will be back. Scott & Stan USA

A home away from home.
The staff was warm and welcoming. The accommodations were very neat, clean and comfy. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit County Louth.

Highly reccomended
Beautiful Bed and Breakfast in Drogheda. Just a few minutes walk from the center of town, and close to convinience stores and pubs. The owner was wonderful and extremely helpful. We would definitely return when next we visit this region. There is a bus terminal in town and an Enterprise car rental location just a two minute walk from the B&B, making this a great base for exploring the Midlands. The room was clean and pleasant, and the dining area was roomy and well laid out. If arriving via bus from Dublin, Matthew's Coaches drops you off right across the street. Highly reccomended.

Fantastic stay! Gracious hosts, efficient service and tremendous breakfasts. Quiet and comfortable nights sleep. A wee walk into town but that's perfect to walk off the generous Irish breakfasts. Overall highly recommended.

Ideal stop over from funtasia before Dublin
Ideal location after an adventure fun filled day at Funtasia waterworld, great price for a family room great fresh cooked breakfast in the morning before heading on to Dublin, Friendly staff and very clean.

Great wee place to stay. Staff excellent. Accommodation very clean. Breakfast in morning perfect. Service was better than hotels, more personal and homely. We had family room which came with microwave, fridge and toaster. Flexibility around time for entering and leaving room. Great car parking. Easy to find. Picture on web is true representation of what the place is like. No hidden disappointments. Few minutes drive to main town and shopping centre. 15 minute drive to Funtasia water park. Definately would return to this B&B and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay over in Drogheda.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Windsor lodge. A lovely couple, an excellent service, a confortable bed and a very good breakfast. They went beyond our expectations at every level. One of the best B&B we went.

Bei kalten Temperaturen nicht zu empfehlen
Wir haben nur eine Übernachtung gebucht und waren im nachhinein sehr froh darüber. Als wir am Abend ankamen, herrschte in der ganzen Lodge eisige Kälte (Außentemperatur 2°). Die Landlady zeigte uns in Mantel und Mütze unser Zimmer und drehte jetzt erst die Heizung an, obwohl wir fest gebucht hatten. Die Heizung machte die ganze Nacht einen Höllenlärm (nicht entlüftet) und am frühen Morgen ging sie dann wieder aus und wir hatten in kürzester Zeit wieder ein kaltes Zimmer und Bad. Der Frühstücksraum war auch nicht beheizt, dafür war das Frühstück in Ordnung. Aber 75 € sind für diese Unterkunft definitiv zuviel!

Accueil convivial, chambres très confortables , full irish breakfast idéal , personnel "dedicated to the guests". Ce fut une halte agréable . Nous sommes allés à pieds dans le centre ville , pour dîner . Attention certains restaurants "take away" ne prennent pas de cartes de crédit .

Tycker att Windsor Lodge var helt ok som B&B då vi stannade i Drogheda för golf i 4 dagar. Tyvärr var det lite saker som drog ned betyget. Vädret var inte topp och det regnade så mycket men när vi skulle höja elementen var de iskalla. Tydligen fick man säga till om detta men vi låg en kväll och huttra lite. Dessutom var det något fuktigt i rummena då värme/AC inte var jättebra. Frukosten var bra och rejäl. Servicen trevlig. Något som också drog ned betygen var väl läget då man i princip var tvungen att ta taxi ner till centrum. Det går att gå men promenadsträckan kändes nästan farlig då det saknades en del trottoarer. Överlag helt ok. Rent och fräscht.
