NEW HOT TUB Summary: Welcome to Ridge Retreat, Your home away from home.Tucked away in the hills by the lake in this gated community you will find a three bedroom three bath home sleeps 8 guests not including the crib. Inside you will find large vaulted ceilings stylish decor and a fully stocked kitchen. Outside you have access to a front porch, a deck, and balcony. These cottages book fast so don't hesitate to book today! The Space: Come and relax by visiting the pool, soaking in the hot tub, relaxing by the fire, or playing one of the provided games with your family. This property is managed by a local management company.We work directly with the owners to make your stay relaxing and fun. When you need questions answered you will be talking with Suzanne Jones , who will work tirelessly to answer all your questions. After your Reservation is confirmed we have an additional renters agreement that will direct you sign via our software Guesty . You will sign that promptly. With in that same time frame a message will be sent you from Lynx, you will input your most current information and 3 days before check in you will receive your check in code. The cottage is located on the top of the hill which overlooks the lake. There are access trails that the resort maintains and we have markers to indicate where to hike. Please bring bug spray during the summer! If you wish to walk to the lake for beach access Taylorsville does not provide that . Taylorsville Lake is a boating and fishing lake, not a swimming lake. You can walk to Taylorsville Lake Marina (taylorsvillelakemarina.com) to the Resort but it is better to drive. You can also visit the state park that is a short 10 minute drive .Visit https://www.stateparks.com/taylorsville\_lake\_state\_park\_in\_kentucky.html to see all that the state park has to offer. Our guests have access to all that Edgewater Resort has to offer, including the resort clubhouse by way of reservation, pool in season, children's play area, basketball hoop, volleyball court, shared fire pits by the playground, greenery and lake access. Because we are located a little outside of town, the major grocery chains are about a 25 minute drive away.However town does have a wonderful grocery store ,pharmacy, auto store, hardware store and many smaller convenience stores like Dollar General. Louisville is located about 45 mins away. Just type in Edgewater Resort or Taylorsville lake as your start point and enter your destination and it will give you very accurate information. We offer smart T.V.s with Amazon Prime Access and WIFI. Please bring your accounts and passwords for anything extra you wish to access.The wifi can be spotty as we are located in a semi-rural area. We have a small charcoal grill located out in back of the cottage off the steps on the porch.We do not supply provisions for this so feel free to bring your own. There is no smoking in this house but you are welcome to do it outside away from the cottage and dispose of the waste properly. Late check outs or early check-ins will be decided on a case by case basis and need to be approved by Suzanne. 3 pm is our goal to get you into the cottage but sometime some things are beyond our control and cause us to run late, please understand we are doing everything we can for a check in at 3pm . This is the exception and not the rule. We supply towels, linens.We do not supply towels for use outdoors such as for the hot tubs and pool. Please bring your own.We also supply a couple days stay worth of toilet paper, paper towels, soap, dish rags, cleaner, laundry detergent and trash bags. Please bring more of these supplies if you think you may need them. The fire place the house is only usable in winter months. We turn them off for the season come the first day of spring. We accept animals at the cottage with a 100 Fee and some restrictions, please see agreement for more information. If you are bringing a boat please note that you may not drive it past the gate. There are a couple of outlets to charge your boats up by the welcome office if you need them. The outlets are first come first serve basis but we have never heard of anyone having a problem using them. As mentioned above the bugs are plentiful. The grounds are sprayed and we treat the cottage inside and out. Please take note we are in a rural setting and we are settled close to a lake. We can not control the flying bugs, we do our best to treat and keep the pests away.Sometime we experience high volumes and sometime we have hardly any.Please be aware and bring bug spray. Spent many years staying at hotels. Our last hotel vacation was in Texas where we had an awful time at multiple locations. I am sure lack of staffing was a result of covid and because of that major hotel chains are no longer providing the same quality of service they use to. This stay in Kentucky was miles above the last place we stayed. We got the whole house to ourselves. No noisy neighbors, no cockroaches like in one of the Texas hotels, it was clean , safe and we got to bring our two dogs with us. Very happy we did this. Great place to stay. The decks were nice for sipping coffee and bourbon, and the inside whirlpool tub was a d light. The outside hot tub didn't work for us, but we didn't need it to, so we didn't call for help with it either. We had no interaction with owner or manager. ##### Annette T. The house is updated and well stocked - nice dishes, all utensils. Hot tub was great - nice privacy with the high fence and the woods in the back. Beds are comfortable and the sheets are high end. Upstairs suite is very nice - 2 balconies and both have a small view of the lake! One note: there is a McDs and Papa John's about 5 min from the house. We didn't see these on the map before we came. Nice to have quick options for the kids. They loved the bunk beds. TV in that room only has a DVD player, if you think to bring a few fav movies. They do have a great selection. Would also suggest brining your own Roku sticks for the TVs. Communication wiht the rental agent/owner was quick and easy. We would visit again!!! ##### Michelle H. We wanted to be away from things, but yet close too. We were able to drive to Louisville in about 45 minutes or so. At night, return and enjoy peace and quiet, which is exactly what we needed. I had a question late at night, emailed the manager and had a response in minutes -- can't ask for anything better. I would recommend this VRBO for your next get away destination. ##### john S. The house has everything you need and more. About a 30-40 minute drive to Bardstown, Distilleries, Arboretum, My Ole Kentucky home all with beautiful scenery.
