This was a beautiful hotel with excellence service. I would recommend to any friend or family that is going to Santa Monica.

Bait and switch on a room upgrade. Slow service and nothing but excuses from the staff and no action taken. I stay at many hotels on a monthly basis and I was blown away with the lack of service and worst accountability for flaws. Problems happen and when they do take care of the customer don't blame them and do nothing. I would never consider this hotel even if it were free.

Great location, beautiful hotel, but....

Pros: Location, staff, bars. The Bungalow is hip, while the lobby bar is classic.
Cons: Letting people know in advance if the service won't be up to the regular standards.
Location: The great thing about this place is that you can take a walk along the bluffs or down to the beach or take a short walk to shopping on the promenade.
We had something very unusual happen, so this probably isn't reflective of a normal stay. In general, the staff was very friendly and professional. When we arrived the room wasn't ready, so the front desk offered us drinks in the lounge, which we found very accommodating. The room itself was clean and had a nice view of the pool and the ocean. The room itself was rather small, but the balcony was big enough for us to sit and watch the sunset. The problem was that we got a letter under the door stating that there would be no room service or restaurants available starting the next morning. Now, one of my favorite things in the world is room service breakfast and, since we were only there for a night for a stay-cation (we live in Los Angeles), I was really disappointed. The hotel was offering a free breakfast buffet the next morning to make up for it, but for a 5-star hotel, I was surprised by this. It turns out the hotel was preparing for a Passover week and so the kitchens had to be prepared for a kosher clientele. It's understandable, but I has really been looking forward to sitting in bed, looking at the ocean, and having breakfast. BUT, my friend saw that I was disappointed and talked to the front desk person and then the manager and she was AMAZING. She actually got one of the staff members in the morning to bring up food from the buffet, along with coffee. It wasn't 5-star room service, but I appreciated the effort.

Location: サードプレイスや海がすぐそばで良かったです。 少し先にホールフーズがあり、7時から開いていたので朝食も調達できました。 近所には美味しそうなピザ屋さんやチャイニーズレストラン、日本料理店、コールドプレスジュースのお店、キッチン用品のお店もあり、散歩しているだけでも楽しかったです。
お部屋の掃除は行き届いていて、日に2度は係りの人がクリーニングに来ていたのだと思います。 外出先から戻ると、シーツやお風呂がきれいになっていたので、さすがだなと思いました。 また夜帰ってくると、室内のライトがついていました。真っ暗な部屋に帰るよりも、気分が良かったです。 きっとホテルスタッフの配慮に違いないと思いました。 直前に近所の別のホテルから、フェアモントに変えたのですが、いい選択をしたと思います。 ベルボーイはチェックイン後にすぐに荷物を運んでくるし、無料のWi-fiも使えたし、 ペットボトルのお水もきちんと補充されていました。アメニティのシャンプーも良かったです。 また有料ですが、ビーチサンダルや日焼け止め、リップクリームも置いてあり、 気の利いたホテルだなと思いました。 風が強くて寒い日でしたが、ジャグジーで体を温めながら、プールで子供と遊びました。オーシャンビューの部屋から、夜はサンタモニカピアの夜景がきれいに見えました。周囲は安全です。 帰りはLAXまでタクシーを使いましたが、ベルボーイがタクシー代金の目安を教えてくれました。 次回サンタモニカに泊まることがあれば、また行きたいホテルです。

Thin walls in the more modern section ... You can here others talking , coughing , showering from the hallways as well as your own room. The older section was better I think
