The staff was excellent all the way around. This was consistent day-to-day. We had reserved the best King room we could, but somehow the bed we received was smaller than a King. It may be that we were “upgraded” to a penthouse room that wasn’t a queen; we aren’t sure, as nobody mentioned an upgrade. The view of Bloomingdales was not a thrill, regardless. It would also be nice if the lamps were bright enough to read by, or if the in-room coffee-maker wasn’t stuck on Espresso (forget it), but again, the staff made up for an awful lot. We think that when the restaurant reopens, it will help a lot. The visit was made so we could use credit given when in 2020, my mother-in-law’s cochlear implant surgery was postponed due to Covid. The hotel refused to refund our money for two reserved rooms. So, we went. We donated her equipment to Cedars, to someone who couldn’t afford or didn’t have insurance. She passed at Christmas. So the trip was bittersweet. We’ll take a nice staff anytime though, and they should be commended.
