Internet states there is fridge and microwave in room....there was not either...I complained and was quickly moved to a better smelling room and was told I Hadnt requested fridge and microwave...why would I request this if it states rooms have them. Then a med sized roach crawls up my wall.... When I checked-in, I found out that the parking lot was being resurfaced and was closed. The description said that hair dryers were available, so I called to reserve one. I was told that I can only get one when I check in, that they only had a limited number, and I could not be guaranteed one. If I cannot be guaranteed a hair dryer, then I must take my own! Once we arrived at the hotel to check in, everything was blocked off and I had to work my way to the window, literally walking around cones and tape. When I did make it to the window, there was someone siting there in the dark with his back to me. I stood there for 2-3 minutes before someone else came in and turned the light on, looked surprised and asked if he could help me. I finally got a room and once in the room, I was pleasantly surprised that it was much nicer than the outside of the hotel looked. There was no closet to hang anything, but it was clean and appeared to be fairly recently remodeled with crown molding. Bella Suites is a nice hotel (more like a motel), for the rates charged. The frig and microwv are nice. The bathroom is updated. There is no phone in room. They need to "focus" on a few things however. Add microfiber bedding for "warmth", instead of a thin sheet and comforter. I'm glad I had a fleece blanket with me. Need to clean the beautiful carpet more frequently. Get some "DO NOT DISTURB" signs. Fix or replace loose toilet seat, tissue holder, etc. Put some trash bins outside for use. Get rid of the grass-blower for cleaning the upstairs walkway, or DO NOT blow it on SUNDAYS when people are sleeping or want to rest and have peace and quiet. (only day in 1.5 wks. to sleep in... 4hrs of "blowing"!) I stay here every time I come to LA. Could probably get more up to date TVs but thats about it. We read some reviews online, saw some pictures and just decided on this one. We got there at 2 am, booked for the friday before and we got settled into our room. We first had trouble getting inside, the door seemed a bit jammed, but i guess it locks after you close it and jams a bit. I didnt mind, it only made me feel safer, if someone decided to break into our hotel lol but we had a great night, and were woken up by the housekeeping lady, telling us check out is 11 am. ##### Carlos Diaz ### 6/10 Okay #### Doug Mar 8, 2013 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### New rooms This hotel is a great deal for the money if you are OK with the surrounding nieghborhood being a little industrial and bleak.
