It's downtown, but somehow thought there would be more eateries and things to do walking distance. Pluses: Metro right behind, The Broad & Disney concert hall one street in front. Minus: front desk (not helpful & won't pick up phone) I guess understaffed at night?, parking (go to 213 S Spring for $12 a night instead, some streets dodgy making it not so great to walk except daytime. Will try Metro to get around next time. I would not stay here again, underwhelming for the price.

The hotel staff are great, and the lobby makes you think youre staying in a new hotel but the rooms are extremely old and they’re clean but id only stay here if i had no other choice. Not the worst hotel but far from the best.

Very nice place, wonderful personable staff, really appreciate the prompt check in and easy check out, valet parking well worth it. My only complaint is that the advertised cafe, bar/lounge, and restaurant aren’t actually part of the hotel but outside as separate businesses.

No complaints for our two night stay when visiting for an NBA game. Room was clean, staff was nice, and the area felt safe. Would stay here again!

The hotel was very nice and clean. We had an issue with the AC unit not working and they switched us rooms right away on a sold out weekend! So that was very much appreciated.

Our room was not properly cleaned & when informing the front desk they explained they were full and they would refund us if we wanted to find other accommodations. It was 8pm & we didn’t have any option but to stay in the room and sleep in unmade sheets and an uncleaned bathroom.

DTLA Experience at its best. Steps from Grand Central Market, Disney Concert Hall and The Broad, among others, the Kawada Hotel is an ideal pied-a-terre for exploring cultural LA. The parking valet was very prompt, so we could enjoy attractions more far afield, as well. Will definitely return!

Fine for the price but bring earplugs
Everything was adequate, but the room felt more like a dorm than a hotel. Walls thin enough to make out conversations/TV in all directions, and door gaps big enough to wrap your fingers through. Earplugs are a must.
