"Great location, Room smelled of smoke"
I prepaid via Expedia. Check-in was quick, easy, no problems. The lobby has been recently updated, and looks nice. Entering my room, Immediately the smell of stale cigarette smoke hit me. It's currently a non-smoking room, but it previously had not been. The disgusting smell never goes away. Since it was late, and I was tired, I didn't want to deal with changing rooms, so...to sleep.
The air conditioner was loud, but effective.
The front desk rang the room phone at 11:40pm. Apparently she had some confusion about my room, and the person started to interrogate me about my employer, the length of my stay, my name, etc. Very rude and inappropriate. I told her so, and hung up on her. Why she needed to talk to me AT THAT MOMENT, I don't know.
In the morning, I used the workout room, on the 3rd floor. The outdoor pool on the same level was out of order - empty. The workout room is small - 2 ellipticals, 2 treadmills, and some dumbbells. Everything was clean and worked well.
Back in the room, the shower worked, but the drain was slow, so that by the end of the shower, I was standing in 2 inches of water. Meh.
There's a full restaurant on the lobby level, which served a buffet for $16. The usual: scrambled eggs, bacon, chicken sausage, a variety of fruit, granola and other cereals, coffee, OJ. It was good.
Overall, great location, nice hotel, but the room needs an update.
