Very nice staff, but I mentioned I'm a super light sleeper and was put by stairs. The noise made for poor sleeping.

No elevators

Posted 12-Feb-2018
Although they are in the process of getting an elevator installed, they currently don’t have one. Luckily my husband is strong enough to haul our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. They did offer staff to help with our luggage but we opted out. After a long day at Universal Studios I was not looking forward to the stair climb...

Parking is not convenient. It’s behind the hotel in the Bank of America parking structure. The front desk is on second floor, and there are lots of very narrow stairs to get there. The whole place has a strange odor: musty, covered over with sickeningly sweet cleaning detergent. The walls in the rooms are very thin and you can hear everything. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Quaint and quiet

I plan to stay again. Not your traditional hotel. Walking distance to everything.

Urban Experience

Posted 24-Jan-2018
Parking was in a bank parking structure behind the building. But hey, it was free. It's also right next to Porto's, which is a plus. Our room was on the second floor and had a lovely view out the window of the wall of the bank next door. Bathroom was also very cozy. It was what it was.

Close to shopping and eating. Free parking. Rooms are kind of small, but everything else was great!

Very Convenient

Posted 8-Jan-2018
Pros: Convenient, comfortable bed, clean room, free parking.
Cons: Change easy to guess code on back door! Update hallway carpet/appearance, offer at least 1 bottle of complimentary water, air quality in guest room.
Location: Walking distance from: Porto's Bakery, The Halal Guys, Bijou Nails & Spa ($30 mani/pedi special- good work), Americana at Brand, Glendale Galleria.
This hotel has free parking behind the building (2nd floor of Bank of America), which we used to our advantage when we walked to the nearby Americana and Glendale Galleria to shop. There are also great shops along the way to the mall. We were stoked when we saw they had a Porto's, Halal Guys, and a nail salon offering a $30 mani & pedi special! The hotel building itself seems quite old; there are certain oddities in the hallway that are a little creepy late at night (seemingly low ceilings, door entries, and an oddly placed low door handle on a stairway door- and I'm barely over 5'), but once you are in the guest room itself all of the weirdness goes away. The rooms are clean and fairly updated. The air quality could be a bit better. The air seemed stuffy if the air conditioning wasn't on (and it was only in the 50s at night, so it was not a hot night). Free Wifi is very slow, but not an issue for me since I have unlimited data. One thing that concerned me was that there are two codes for the two doors that lead to the back alley (by the parking structure), and one of the codes is so easy that anyone could gain access into the building... they should change that. Oh, and the hotel staff informed me (when asked) that the tap water is not really drinkable, but there is no complimentary water in the room (only for purchase)- but there is an ice machine and disposable cups. Overall, this hotel is a solid 4.75 stars for me for convenience and a good night's sleep (comfy bed).

WARNING! The worst stay in a hotel In 30 years

Posted 3-Jan-2018
We got there on New Year’s eve, had to walk up three flights of stairs dragging our luggage because there was no elevator in hotel that cost $324 a night. My husband and I both had back surgery recently and the front desk guy Raymond would not help us with our luggage. He said it was on the website we should have seen that there were no elevators. Once in the room We could not get the television to come on, so we called the front desk six times and he kept disconnecting us on the phone. We went to the front desk to talk to him about it and he would not come and fix our television because he was the only person in the entire hotel. We got upset with him about that and he threatened to call the police kick us out of our room. Because it took us so long to get our luggage up the stairs, and my husband‘s back was hurt, we missed our New Year’s eve dinner reservations so we had trail mix and water in our room for New Year’s eve and NO television. The next morning we went downstairs to check out one day early because it was such a terrible experience. And they refused to credit us for the second night that we have not used. DO NOT STAY HERE.
