Historical Hotel

Posted 9-Oct-2015
Pros: stairs, and the BED
We Stayed there 3 years ago, and the staff said they would be putting in an elevator. Great Steak house/Jazz music next door. Hotel and two very long steep stairs to get to reservation desk. 2nd floor another set of stairs. I will say the room was clean. However, room 212 the bed should have been thrown out mattress is broken down, I sank 4.5 inches on my side and the husbands was 2 inches. We could hear the plumbing every time someone turned on and off the water, we must have been next to the control valve. We will not be staying there again.

Excellent Hotel in Safe Neighborhood

Posted 7-Oct-2015
Pros: The location! And the bed was sooo comfortable. The bathroom was also really clean and the air condition was a life-saver.
Cons: It can't be helped at this point, but I disliked how the first floor was nonexistant and how our window was less than 3 feet from another building.
Location: Glendale is super safe, and downtown had so many shops and restaurants nearby. I loved the fashion center and galleria with the movie theatre.
It was really nice! We only stayed two nights but I wish we could've stayed longer. Everything was clean and comfortable and the staff was nice. Plus the location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel in Glendale

Posted 6-Oct-2015
Pros: It is very clean and has a little character and charm. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
Cons: The parking is a little bit of a walk, but it is secured and validated for hotel guests.
Location: I like that there are so many restaurants and shops within walking distance of the hotel.
I stayed here for almost a full week and the staff wasvery friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Glendale or the general area. It is an historic building so it doesn't have an elevator. I liked using the stairs as I don't get as much exercise when I am traveling.

In the city, next to Portos. Vintage hotel.

Posted 5-Oct-2015
Very vintage hotel. Good staff. Woke up late for checking out and they gave us an extra hour free of charge. Very comfortable bed and pillows!! Even though it was in the city you didn't hear anything. And the hotel is right next to the famous Portos Bakery. Downside was the stairs. It took us 4 flights of stairs to get to our room. Like I said an old hotel not very handicap accessible. Overall we had a good stay in a clean and comfortable room.

Nice hotel downtown

Posted 1-Oct-2015
Pros: Very comfortable bed and nice furniture in the room
Cons: Clean the carpets on the entry stairs and hallway.
Location: Lots of food options nearby.
Be aware that parking is 2 blocks away, the rooms are small and that there is no elevator.

Pros: Nice bed lamp.
Cons: Build a parking lot!!
I paid $140.00 for this place. That's a price you pay for comfort, and convenience, not for a pretty Motel 6 Good. The bed is comfy. The Bad, & Creepy: (Than the ridiculous.) I appreciate camera's in certain business. There is a certain level of safety, and security they give. The number of cameras at this hotel was staggering, to the point of being unsettling, and voyeuristic. I really didn't know if they had one in my room or not, but I wouldn't have been surprised! There is no elevator. I arrived at 2:30 am, with 3 bags, and Very tired. I was greeted by the stairway from hell, and there is no one to help available with your bags. For a Hilton price, there should be. I made it to my room to drop my bags off, because the ridiculous part is coming; but first the room. It was clean, bathroom was nice, bed was comfortable, the AC worked, so all that was nice. It was a Tiny room, about 300 sq feet, but I was alone, no big deal. The big deal was, I could hear every sound my neighbor made. Walking to the restroom, the door opening, turning on water, flushing the toilet, all very classy. Getting to sleep was difficult, at 3 am, I was serenaded to my neighbor's love making prowess, just to complete my night. Now the Ridiculous. In all my travels, I've never come across this. They have No parking lot of their own. Nothing. So at 2 am, I had to drive a city block, make a right, than another half block, to a Sears parking lot, than Walk back to the hotel,

Close to Americana galleria

Didn't know about stairs up to reception. Managed. Room is small but updated and has all needed for comfort. Bottom sheet was coated w plastic different from top sheet. I thought it was a mattress protector but it wasn't. It was hot and did not stay put. The decor was lovely. I am too short to hang clothes in armoire. Within walking distance to many cafes, taverns, stores, theater. Fun.

Car parking is now an issue

Posted 24-Sep-2015
Pros: Previous visits
Cons: Car parking
We have stayed here at least four times and its a great hotel in an excellent location for Glendale restaurants and shops and a great bar ,JAX right next door . However the car parking has now moved from the Bank of America lot behind the hotel to the SEARS lot a few blocks away and this make unloading and loading bags difficult

Sauberes Hotel. War für uns der ideale Ankunftspunkt nach dem langen Flug und perfekter Ausgangspunkt für unsere Westküstenrundfahrt.
