Clean, Excellent service, Convenient

Posted 28-Apr-2017
Pros: friendly, helpful staff Clean rooms Centrally located
Cons: Microwaves in the rooms would be nice
Location: Americana Mall Galleria Mall Art Galleries Great Restaurants
Hotel Brandwood exceeded my expectations. Located in the charming town of Glendale, CA, it is a small, but classy hotel. The staff at the front desk were very courteous and provided me with all the extra information that I needed during my stay. They went out of their way to make me comfortable. The cleaning crew did a fantastic job, the place was spotless. I will definitely stay here again, and I would recommend it to other travelers!

Close to many restaurants.

When I hooked the hotel, I didn't realize the stairs would be such an issue. However, by day 3 the stairs were grueling. Yes, you guessed it! There is no elevator! My room was like a closet and the view out my window was a brick wall with no sunshine coming in. It was a bit claustrophobic. The staff were very nice and gladly moved us to a room that was slightly bigger and had a view out the window. It was a rooftop view but it was better than what I had. The other thing that was very disappointing was that they charged for everything! The refrigerator had a lock on it and you had to pay for water and coffee as well. So, for those reasons I will not be returning to Hotel Brandwood

Comfortable quiet place to stay in Glendale

Posted 23-Apr-2017
Pros: I liked the cleanliness of the room. It was quiet, too. Access to free parking was great.
Cons: Getting up the stairs can be a challenge if you have a large suitcase,
Location: Glendale is a nice place. There are many unique restaurants within walking distance for breakfast and dinner.
My wife and I stayed here because it is close to Griffith Park.

Lots of stairs with no elevators and weak WiFi

Posted 18-Apr-2017
Pros: The rooms have been updated. Our room was clean and well maintained. However, the beds are too short if you are 6 feet tall. The walls are thin.
Cons: Better WiFi, queen size beds and sound-proof insulation.
Location: Several good restaurants in the neighborhood.
It was a shock to climb a very long flight of stairs to the reception area, and then be told that there are no elevators. It is a long way even to what is considered the first floor of the the hotel, and even more steps to the second floor. I think it is fair to say that the hallways have not been updated in a very long time. The carpet has definitely seen better days. In addition, the WiFI signal is very weak on the second floor, and the connection kept dropping. They need a repeater or a stronger transmitter. Also, although parking is free, it is provided in a separate outdoor lot across an alley behind the hotel, and only on the second floor. Don't be surprised at the lack of an elevator in the parking garage. There are really no amenities at this hotel. You are really only getting a room.

great location

Wonderful Glendale location! Walkable to lots of shopping and restaurants and the beautiful Americanna of Glendale? Hotel is older, classic and has European feel. Only downfall is due to old plumbing in an old building. Thin walls so you hear everything. OTherwise fantastic.

Close hotel to restaurants

Posted 10-Apr-2017
Pros: I did like that the bed was big and comfortable, there was a Armour to hang your clothes in the room. I liked that the hotel was near Porto's.
Cons: Change the AC unit so it's not so loud. Maybe add a shelf in the bathroom to hold more items.
When we checked in, the sink in the bathroom was full of water (the last person closed the sink stopper), I assumed the cleaning staff didn't check the sink before us checking in. There is not much room in the bathroom for your toiletries. The parking is not close to the hotel, so make sure to park in front so you can unload/load your luggage. There are a lot of stairs, I got a work out bringing up my luggage! The AC unit in the room is loud as well, I kept having to adjust the volume to the TV so I could hear over the unit.
