Best stay in Long Beach so far

Posted 27-Apr-2016
I read different reviews after paying for my 4 night stay. I was really regretting the fact that it was non refundable, but from beginning to the end the experience was great. We received a renovated room, and it was really quiet. The staff was really nice and helpful. The beach was 15 minutes away and lots of restaurants within 5 minutes. Good if you enjoy having a few drinks and don't Ike paying a lot for a cab. I will definitely be staying here again. Our room was on the 10th floor in the tower.

Never Stay Here Again

Posted 7-Apr-2016
Pros: Proximity to Long Beach Airport - nothing else at all.
Check-in was slow and difficult. Room - ok, beds okay. WC very small - difficult to be in the room and close the door at the same time.Extreme outside road noise for all rooms - outward-facing. Restaurant - weird - disco uplights, Food greasy and disgusting. Service spotty - no drink refill check - too busy socializing with each other. Actually became ill after eating there. Scheduled airport shuttle at 8:30AM. Arrived downstairs at 8:25AM. Waited for 15 minutes then checked with front desk again. They assured me he would be there in five minutes and that I should worry - the hotel is close to the airport. not the point - I arranged for 8:30 transport. The van did not show in 5 minutes - almost 9AM before we departed. According to the driver, he left with another rider at 8:20AM and wasn't informed about my scheduled transport.

Close to airport

Posted 24-Mar-2016
Pros: location
Cons: Improve the window to cut the noise
Location: beach is 15 min drive away
Easy to get too from the airport however if your room is on the side facing the airport it is very loud. Renovation at the hotel has improved it greatly and when its finished should be a great place to stay.

Expedia gets second class treatment!

Posted 22-Mar-2016
Pros: It was a decent hotel for the money.
Cons: Windows need to be upgraded for better sound proofing and a parking fee is crazy at this location.
Location: Location is good for access to freeway but no nice resturants in walking distance.
The clerk made a point of it that I booked through expeida. I did not get a renovated room, I did not get a voucher for a free breakfeast, freeway noise was terrible and I was on the 9th floor and paying $9 a day for parking was crazy. Its not like its downtown Long Beach and parking is a premium.

My trip to Long Beach California

Posted 19-Mar-2016
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: The location although freeway accessible was very noisy. The only way we could get any sleep was to blast the fan in an attempt to drown out the noise
Although we didn't spend much time in our hotel the time spent there was not pleasant. The hotel itself didn't offer much in the way of amenities and the few they did have like coffee, tea and cups in the room were not replenished on a daily basis. The first time I tried to shave the plunger didn't work so I had to reach under the sink and operate it from there. The shower was a lawsuit waiting to happen, every time I got the temperature the way I like the handle would continue to move hotter and hotter until it eventually burned. If you ask me the entire experience was not worth the money I paid. I always thought of the Holiday Inn as my "go to" hotel but I don't think I will be returning to this one or any other for that matter.
