I fell in love with it on my first visit and I just knew it was for me. The property is 1/2 block from the main street in Los Alamos, CA. It's very private even though it's only right over the creek from Bell Street. The property is fenced and there is plenty of room to walk, explore, play crocket/Bocce Ball/Cornhole, relax, and enjoy a fire in the fire pit or lounge in the jacuzzi. I decided, after spending months pouring my heart into the property, the ranch house and the Saloon, that I wanted to share it with others. It’s a work in progress but already a comfortable place to call home. The wifi is good, there is parking for many, you can invite guests for dinner under the oak grove and have a drink in the Saloon and you might even see the resident bobcat or the resident fox family wandering through the yard. You're a 10 second walk from downtown Bell Street across the bridge. The Los Alamos area was originally a Chumash Indian Village and then became a stagecoach town in the late 1800's. It's a short drive to the rest of Santa Ynez Valley and everything it has to offer. It still boasts the last remaining railroad station that serviced the narrow gauge line during the early 1900’s (across the street from my ranch). One of my favorite things to do is sit outside at the fire pit and stargaze. Because the property is off of Bell Street, you can usually see a starry sky in the evenings. Whether you want to bike, hike, shop, or explore the many wine tasting and restaurant options available, you’ll always have something to do. Los Alamos, itself, is home to some of the best dining options in the entire Valley and the people are friendly and welcoming. It’s a small town (I have to get my mail at the post office every day), but not too far from Santa Barbara and Los Angeles (to the south) and San Luis Obispo and San Francisco (to the north). It is literally taking a step back in time. Note...Los Alamos is rural! As such, there are occasional (2 to 3 times / year or so) unexpected power outages. Property and house were beautiful. We enjoyed eating outside - their outside loggia was beautiful. The house was well stocked and the kitchen was a great spot to cook. The beds were comfy and the tv room was fantastic. We probably played about 50 games of pool! TVs in almost every room. Dawn was a great host . She had a comprehensive info book about the property- which answered all our questions. We did wine tasting and three hikes within a half an hour from the house. The location is perfect being just off the main road, so all businesses / restaurants were within walking distance. Directly across the street is the best breakfast place in town. Very spacious living spaces and well stocked kitchen for basic needs. The bathrooms had good water pressure and the beds were comfortable. We were there for a wedding, so did not get to use the hot tub, but Dawn cleans and treats it before check-in and readily responded to all questions. Everyone had a great time at the house. I loved how easy it was to work everything because of all the thoughtful work the homeowner put into the notes around the house. Wedding can be very stressful, but the stay at this Verbo home was fun and relaxing. ##### Molly M. Came to Los Alamos for a wedding and shared the house with three other adults. We never felt cramped. Other friends dropped in over the weekend and it was always perfect. Lots of space to sit and visit. The kitchen is great. The covered patio/deck made for an excellent spot for coffee talk. In the evenings, wine in front of the fire place was fantastic. The home was very clean and comfortable. The access to town was a short walk. The property was stunning! Will definitely stay again if so am in the area. This was our second year renting the ranchette- such nice ambience, beautiful setting, well stocked with anything you need. Lots of clear notes and hints about how to use the house and accessories. I spent two nights soaked in cozy comfort. The grounds are beautiful. The kitchen has everything you might want. The living spaces are perfect right down to water pressure and linens. The town of Los Alamos is charming. Dawn is quick with communication and her warm personality is reflected in every aspect of her home. The only low point of my stay was pulling out of the driveway this morning and seeing the ranch in my rear view. Thank you Dawn for sharing your lovely ranch! ##### Sallie M. The house was cozy, yet spacious, with good natural light and a fun family room with pool table. My kids were very happy to explore the sprawling grounds. My only regret was that I forgot to bring a football. Finding the old western saloon on the grounds was a pleasant surprise and definitely a treat for a 10 year old boy. We also got to enjoy the pleasant hot tub and large patio lounge area. The property is a short walk to the retail strip of Los Alamos with restaurants, tasting rooms, and shops and conveniently just steps from an electric vehicle super charger. The communication with the host was easy. Instructions to access were provided well before our arrival and there weren’t a bunch of hoops for us to jump through to clean up before we left.
