Bring Your Boat!UNIT 11 This beautiful and comfortable unit 11 has 1 bedroom and living room with sleeper sofa so it can easily accommodate 4 people. It has wonderful view of the bay and own dock, so the guests can bring their boat. Cabana Beach Club is very small complex with only 11 units and offers great privacy. Canal side Cabana Beach Club consist only of 3 units. Gulf of Mexico’s beatiful beaches just across the street, a really short walk. The community has own heated pool as well. The unit is fully equipped, you will find everything you need - kitchen utensils, silverware, pots and pans, towels, sheets, beach chairs etc. Channel TV and WIFI. They are always well decorated and filled with useful items. Perfect walking distance to Cannons marina if you want to rent a boat, and across the street from the property pool/beach access. The owner was out of town but made sure to reach out and give us the contact info of their assistant who was BEYOND helpful, from addressing a small leak in the kitchen sink (same day within 2hrs of contacting her and while we were out at dinner), to helping us with a left-behind item. The only BYO items we brought was spices, and basics like ketchup and mustard and nonstick spray; Publix is super close for any other items you might need. 10/10 we will continue to stay here whenever we are in Longboat. ##### Veronica R. Staying across the road from the beach was fine for us. The patio and dock was great and looking out in to the canal was peaceful. The pool , beach and laundry are across the highway but it is not hard to get to. The bungalow has been somewhat updated. Some of the vinyl is chipping off a kitchen drawer. My wife and Kids stayed at this property for a vacation and due to greed we completely regret ever trusting investment rental properties. In one day one we had two cockroaches and rodent droppings in the pan cub board. We contacted vrbo and the owner because we wanted to leave and the owner stated “ she will do whatever we want.” We decided to leave and request refund and the owner as well as vrbo state that this is not an infestation and it’s not unsafe. We’ll we are from the Midwest and cockroaches and rodent poop is unsafe to us and our kids especially. We were never given a refund and greed has ruined this experience for my family and I. Few other items that one should be aware of, the beds are not comfortable at all, the beach was very weedy. I don’t care if someone in the warm climates believes cockroaches are normal, people should have the right to leave a rental if they believe it is not safe, especially for children. Jul 8, 2019 Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication #### Underwhelmed The location of the property was pleasant and worked well for our needs when we were in town. However, there were a number of glitches that affected our stay: - Toilet had not been cleaned - Not enough toilet paper - TV in bedroom did not work - It would have been helpful to have instructions on how the main TV worked. We eventually figured it out. - Water and ice filter on the refrigerator did not work - Password to WiFi Written on welcome blackboard was incorrect. Eventually we found it in the information binder, which was disorganized with pages out of order or falling out. - Owner said extra sheets would be in the closet for the foldout couch. They weren’t there and it was not until the day we left that we happened to see them in one of the drawers. - The owner did not tell us ahead of time that she was going to be out of the country. When we contacted her to ask if someone could assist us with our issues above, she gave us the name and number of someone else. When I contacted that person, she said she was having difficulty understanding what we were asking, but she would come over. She never did. Mar 23, 2018 #### Pleasant stay We spent several pleasant days in Unit #11 (middle unit of three facing the canal). The unit is in a very quiet location, with a lovely view of the canal (not the bay). Some manatees came visiting every day and were fun to watch. The beach (nice combination of powdery sand and small shells) and pool are across the street, and there are plenty of beach chairs. The location on Longboat Key is great--stores and restaurants are just a few minutes' drive away, but the condo is far enough north to have very little traffic. Michaela, the manager, was extremely responsive to our questions--she's a gem. While the unit was clean, we did not find it in the condition we expect at this price point. While the shower and refrigerator are new, many of furnishings and linens are dated and worn--I bought some of the bedding for my own home about 15 years ago. There was no shelf on one side of the bed for a book or glass of water; the only bedroom light was an overhead light in the ceiling fan; and the bathroom had very little counterspace for toiletries (although there was some cabinet space); kitchen dishes and glassware were a hodgepodge. The information booklet needs updating; some of the suggested restaurants are long closed, and we had to work our way through four wifi network names and passwords before finding the current one. The kitchen's cooking equipment is very limited (no measuring spoons, for example). The agreement specifies that, if anything under $25 is needed (such as lightbulbs or batteries), you're expected to pay for it yourself. Altogether, while we enjoyed our stay, we expect something a bit nicer at this price point, so we'll be looking for a different place the next time we visit the Gulf Coast. ##### Linda S.
