The location is the highlight, in private vacation enclave (historic resort property) on the shore of Long Lake in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. Somewhat steep path to the shared beach. Close to hiking trails and great fishing right off the dock. The owner, Richard, was friendly and easily accessible as he lives onsite and was outside taking care of the property. The lake front location was breathtaking. The cottage is located in a grove of tall pines overlooking Long Lake, with great views from a large picture window and from the screened in porch. It was very quiet and felt very private. The cottage itself was clean and well furnished, including a stove that added charm and helped keep us comfortable on cooler nites. The bathroom has a deep tub/shower that is perfect for a relaxing soak or one may choose to use the outdoor shower. Richard and Hillarie were wonderful hosts and were available to take care of any of our needs, doing so in a non-intrusive way. Oct 15, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Restful and peaceful retreat My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful long weekend here. It was pretty chilly for our stay and since this is a three season camp we made sure to bring extra layers for ourselves and the bed. We were cozy! We enjoyed breakfast at the bar in the kitchen with the beautiful view across the lake and outings to Long Lake, Tupper Lake, and Blue Mountain Lake. We don’t live far so we spend a lot of time in this area, but it was nice to have a few dedicated days and nights to spend together. This is a great basecamp for all kinds of hiking and water activities. The setting is so peaceful, and the camp itself is spacious, comfortable, well outfitted, and clean. Richard was kind, helpful, and easy-going (even let me borrow his binoculars when I forgot mine!). The cottage is super cozy, and the perfect size for two people. It sits directly on the lake. The fog on the lake is beautiful in the morning and the sunsets are exquisite. There is a small dock which is great for swimming or just enjoying the serene setting. The kitchen has all the pans and appliances you might need. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The mattress was comfortable. The gas-powered "wood stove" is the only heating source, which was fine for us, but be aware it can get a tad cold in the bedroom because of this (we also went at the beginning of October so anticipated this). I loved the dock for swimming and the outdoor shower. The location is a perfect basecamp for many area activites.
