"Loved staying on this historic ship. "
I stayed on the Queen Mary for a week and could easily stay two more. Loved wandering all over, and taking the tours. Much of what we see has been well preserved and is still a grand ship. Great staff. Was noisy at night when the Halloween celebration started. The restaurants on board were expensive but nice. We got familiar with the bus system and had no trouble going anywhere we wanted. Was one of the best places I have ever stayed, but then again I love ships. On the sun deck, aft section, where the decks are/have been replaced with plywood, very tacky. I know teak wood is expensive, but come on this is the Queen Mary.

Pocket Guide: Long Beach, Los Angeles Historic Hotels

Long Beach, with its immense port, is a hub for commerce and leisure on the Pacific. Freighter ships haul imported goods, pleasure cruises depart for Catalina Island, and the Queen Mary, the storied trans-Atlantic liner, is moored in the city’s bay. The Aquarium of the Pacific is nearby. At night, downtown’s Pine Avenue strip and Belmont Shore’s Second Street are prime entertainment spots.
